Cargo Area Box
I hope you figure it out. There are so many options out there and many of them depend on what you are trying to achieve with your setup. Tuning the antenna is the MOST important part of your CB. I personally have had an antenna on the front and rear bumpers, inside the bed in various locations, on the roof, on the bed rail, mounted the front fender, on top of the toolbox, and on the hitch.
I've found the easiest and best placement for a small CB is on top of the roof with a magnetic based antenna. I've used everything from 1' fiberglass to a 9' whip. There are many many many many variables to tuning your cb besides antenna placement. It takes time to get it set just right.
If you just want to get out a couple of miles and talk on the highway, I suggest the magnetic based roof mounted along with 18' of coax. You can run it through the 3rd brake light if you want to do a little fab work or just run it out of the firewall and along the frame and up between the cab and bed. It's all up to you. That's why it's hard to answer your question definitively.

Thanks for the info, rch. I'll eventually get it. The number one rule my GF has in NO HOLES, lol. I may go with the mag mount. I'll just have to remember to put it in the bed when I go through a car wash!
