Cummins going into my SCrew

acutally thinking more like 14"-16" total lift. the body lift may need to be left on just so that the body can clear the motor and tranny without too much cutting. but thats still all to be seen.
and i will get with you. ill be needing some help in a few weeks doing an in-frame rebuild on this cummins. figure i might as well while ive got it like this.

well ive actually thought of doing a sas with the D60 and a 10.25 but not sure. The axles wouldnt be hard to find. But the springs and driveshafts might be tough.
plus the steering

x2 on that i was actually thinking about the trans when i was typing. i just never said anything.
Is it gonna require some cutting? Im kinda geussing it will even with the 3" body lift.
If i do end up doing a SAS you will be the first person on my list. I know the general on welding but not enough to actually take a project on like that.

SICK BUILD! I will follow the thread as well. I bet your gas mileage will be great. Regular gas engines in beasts like that just suck the money right out of you're pocket. How long do you antcipate the build will take?

haha yea 9MPG isnt exactly cutting it anymore. and as far as the time for the build, once the engine is finished being built and redied, it shouldnt take more than 2 or 3 weeks (of actual labor, not counting ordering parts and waiting for them to be shipped) to box in and gusset the frame, finish the SAS, mount the engine, figure out the new steering, mount the new intercooler, radiator, transmission cooler, and wire it up.
wow that sounds like a lot of work.
