This is exactly what I did/do. I limo tinted all my windows as well as close the passenger door vent. It does make a difference. Could the AC be colder? Sure it could, but this scenerio seems to work for me. I just wish my AC was like my wifes '99 Taurus. That thing will freeze your nuts off!

The A/C is doing fine in my 2007 even with 100+ degree temps. After setting in the sun, it still gets cold enough after 30 minutes or so that my toddler grabs (or yells for) her blanket. I can't say it is the coldest or best I have ever had, but I don't have any complaints.

It cools the truck as many have already said, but rarely will it get cold enough to where it freezes anyone out. I was riding in a friends Nissan the other day and man was his A/C cold. All I could think to myself was I wish my A/C would get that cold.

The A/C is barely adequate. In my 2007 SCrew it gets cool, but never to the point you have to turn the A/C down. The truck never gets cold.

Down here in Houston the A/C has to work good. But Ford could have done better with the F150 A/C.

Ive got this same exact problem and have taken it to ford 3 times trying to get the a/c to kick in when i get in! Have you found a cure?

Mine works fine, it gets about 95 degrees here with a heat index of about 105-110 during the summers, not too mention extreme high humidity!(I live in southeastern North Carolina) Only thing I dont like is that it takes a while to get all the heat out, but thats to be expected on any vehicle especially a black vehicle like mine.

I was thinking of adding a small auxillary fan to the a/c condensor to improve the air temp coming out of the vents. Most of the time it is cold but sometimes, especially when stopped in the 95+ temp with 75%+ humidity (110 heat index) the a/c will actually blow hot.

Thanks everyone for the reply's, they are much appreciated. However, given the overwelming number of negative comments about the A/C system, and the fact I live in the Southwest (ABQ, NM). I'm afraid I'm going to have to go with a new . . . Ford F150 FX4. It's a great truck, good looks, good reviews on almost all other truck type aspects, competitive MPG, and I' m a Ford guy, what are ya gonna do!!! Will be working a deal this week for an FX4 I've had my eye on, thanks again.

No. But i am going to try to get into the dealer this week. I was sitting at the lights yesterday after dinner and the AC quite cooling. My wife was in the truck with me and lets just say she was not happing about getting sweaty before we were meeting some friends. Therefore, I am now not happy with the AC in the truck.

I have a call into the local dealer.

EDIT:Couldn't get in till Monday....have to wait and see

Mine works great, just has an intermittant whistle coming from the evaporator box. Haven't had time to have dealer check in out yet. Probably won't get it looked at for now since A/C works so well in comparison to others. Just drove the truck out of town in 100+ degree weather and kept the A/C on 72. Plenty of cold for us. Wife actually closed one of her vents. Any setting 70 and below is frigid!! Guess I'll just forget about the whistle thing for right now huh?

I bought my truck, an 05 FX4, about a month ago and have already had into the dealer twice because the A/C sucks. Twice they have evaced the whole system and recharged, plus leak checked. My rear vents, it's a supercab, don't blow hardly any air. I traded in a 2000 with 111,000 miles that worked really well. How does a 2000 cool way better than a 2005?
