You're about where I was when I bought mine (07 Lariat Screw 4x4). I know I didn't get the best deal, but I got a good enough deal I can sleep at night... Different dealers will have different deals, so if you looked around your area, and found a deal you're comfortable with, that's probably all that matters... Just my .02

I need more help on this, I went to kbb.com and ran the truck with the options and looked at the msrp, invoice and what people are actually paying columns and it looked like I came in at the what people are paying column. Someone fill me in on what I should do, I hate getting ripped off, I don't mind paying a little extra for the extras, hard top lid, dvd, but I don't want to get nailed on the truck itself. Suggestions please, I want to get back to the dealer if I need to today. Thanks all

I just went back to kbb.com and ran it again and without tax (+ $3K) it was $42K, which is where I am at total. Someone tell me I'm OK at this number.........please. Not losing sleep over it but HATE to get totally ripped off. Ripped off a little is OK,lol. Thanks
If anyone has time, please go to kbb.com and price it with the options. You can only take the $545 rebate because I took no interest. Also have to add hard top lid and dvd which are add ons and not on the list, about $2500.

Well, this thread has turned into a debate about the financing. I have the same truck , only it's an '04. Love it. Didn't think I would be happier than with my '97 that I had for 10 years. Got it loaded last Nov. with 16K miles and a year on the wrrty. $24K. I don't think there were any options left off. There are some things I wouldn't buy, like the reverse sensors, probably skip the moonroof too. Overall, love the truck.

BTW - ANYONE can get an XPLAN PIN. Buy one share of Ford and then contact investor relations. Did it for my dad who after years of being more or less anti Ford now owns or helped purchase 4 of 'em. Good luck with the truck, you'll be pleased with it. Save up for tunes, eventually you'll probably want them.

I logged into Ford and found a similar truck to the one you're talking about. MSRP was $41,190 and Invoice was $36,940. That did not include the dealer upgrades you mentioned. $3K in taxes? OUCH!

For comparason, my '07 FX4 MSRP was $41,910 and invoice was $36,804. After negotiations, I got it for $1500 under invoice, minus rebates and 0% financing. I'm sure I could have got it for less, but they had to ship it in from half-way across the country, so I wasn't gonna squabble.

No matter what, we all pay too much for the new vehicles we buy. If you do in fact make 6-figures, why "ping" about a few grand?

Enjoy your new truck and don't let these guys get to you. There will always be some wiseguy who paid less than you and trying to call you out for it. As long as you are happy, then that's all that matters. Congrats!

Nice truck

Sounds like a nice truck but I would have gotten alot of the stuff aftermarket vs paying the dealer. It would have been alot cheaper but that is just my .02

You are describing your sales transation just like the dealer likes, with no clue how much the truck really costs or the sales price or the extra stuff the dealer added.

What was the MSRP of the truck from Ford?
How much were the extras the dealer added (DVD, cover, etc)?

People are getting these trucks for $10k off MSRP on $40k+ trucks with rebates. The 0% interest rate will save more than the $3k rebate and a decent 6% interest rate, so you made the right move there. You probably did okay, but not great. Enjoy it!

Update: Picked up the the truck on Thursday and they owe me the hard top lid, and tv. I also added the bed liner for $250. I was worried about how much I may have over paid, but not worried so much anymore, the truck is awesome. Thanks for all who replied and I will be posting more I'm sure.
