Poor Gas mileage...
Just got an '07 SCrew 2 months ago and I luv everything about it except the mileage!!! I expected much better. My city Avg. is 12.9....best highway was 16. Its an '07 lariat with the 5.4 and 3.73. Anyone running the same set up? What kinda of results r u getting?
Thanks in advance!

I had the exact same setup. I assume you have the 4x4 too. I got around 14-15 city. Added an AF1 intake, and had a magnaflow muffler welded in to stock exhaust, and now I've been getting 15-16 consistantly. 13 sounds low to me, but a lot depends on your driving style. I try to stay off it, and that definitely helps.
lol.....

Ive always had trucks....so the bad mileage thing is nothing new to me. Even when light on my right foot....thats as good as its been. I just expected a lil better than that.
I was close to 12. The advice I found here here has helped and I now get 14 - 14.5 with equal city and highway driving. I have yet to take a long trip with my new driving style and will report back in a couple weeks.
My main points are keep the RPM's below 2 grand as often as possible. This includes accelerating and highway driving.
I have also found that driving just a little over the speed limit in town (40 - 41) helps as well. The Overdrive kicks in and uses less RPM's then at 35 - 37.

Mine is a 07 SCREW KR 5.4L 3.73 and I'm getting about 11.5 city. 15 hwy. Approx. 850 miles on the truck though.

13-14 city and 17-18 hwy. All stock and I don't pay much attention to keeping a light foot. I just drive. From reading posts on this site it is very clear that you can expect anywhere from 10-16 city and 14-21 hwy. It all depends on how you drive and what mods you have on the truck. It is also very clear that even with the least expensive, most bang for your buck mod you will probably never get your monies worth out of it in saved gas mileage. It's funny how these trucks still get the same gas mileage that your grandpa's truck did 60 years ago. well, not funny haha but funny pathetic.
So far my trip computer shows 15.6 and it's been stuck there. That's over the past couple of tanks with a combination of city and highway driving. I have an '07 Lariat 5.4L 3.73 4x4. That's about what I was expecting. It might do a little better as it gets a few more miles on the engine.
My previous truck was a similar '04 Lariat. It was getting 12.5 in town and about 19 on the freeway.

Mine's an 07 Screw KR 5.4 w/3.73 LS 4x4, 16k miles and counting. When empty, the truck gets between 13-16 mpg in the city, and 15-19 mpg on the highway. Factors to consider: acceleration, ground or terrain (consumes more going up hills) and headwinds.
Wait until you run the truck against a strong headwind. I have done that a few times on the new truck....12 mpg running interstate speeds. Oh then wait until you tow something heavy too...about 12 mpg.
The only way you'll get decent mileage out of a hefty truck like the F150s is run it downhill with a strong tailwind and the tranny in neutral. Any other time, plan on the engine sucking back the gasoline.
Sorry to reinforce the bad news but that's the way it is with these trucks.

I just returned from 2000 miles of driving thru mountain roads and flat lands on vacation. I was averaging a little over 16 mpg.
I am ecstatic because I have a 4x4 lifted 4 inches with 35" tires. I have 3.73 gears and probably had about 1000 lbs. of cargo. I was traveling about 75 mph average with the A/C on.
I was quite surprised. My wife's Trailblazer gets similar mileage under the same conditions less the load.
