List was $38,800.00 or so, and ended up paying right at $28,000.00. I still remember my first truck -a 90 Dakota reg cab with a 6cyl, air and 5sp stick-$6700.00 out the door.....

Guys, you're killing me, or maybe I'm going to kill you with this:
I live in Italy and last september I ordered a 04 F150 Lariat, coming from Kansas City, it took a long time to get to my house due to several problem I don't want to bother you with, the truck has moonroof and power back window and a Westin chrome running board, the rest is standard, I only add the LPG tank and injection system (about 3K Euros), this is what I paid to the dealer:

42000 EURO ===> about 56191.80 US$
No kidding !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Consider shipment is about $ 2400
import tax 22% of declared value
VAT 20% of value+import taxes
LPG system $ 4000
Paper for law
registration and
license plate $ 1000 +/-
)

So finally I have the truck I was dreaming since 2 years but (from the wallet point of view) who made the good deal, well, it wasn't me!!!!

well, i got a 2005 F150 lariat with only 19k in it, fully loaded, 6 cds changer, black leather, wood grain, the whole deal.. i bought it in feb. 07, i live in sourthern california so i looked around online for almost a month till i found what i was looking for, online price said 21 888 + tax/lincensereg. , i printed that out and i took it to the dealership to see the truck, well, they had it for $26 500 sticker price. (i'm glad i printed that out) i even negotiated to bring it down to $20 888. got 14 500 for my trade in. total price of the truck was $23 464, but due to the trade in (paid off) i only finance around 8 thou. so my payments are 180 bucks a month, and i added a lift to the truck that costed me around 4 grand.
this is the picture of what it looks like now and paying 180 a month for it....

i think i did pretty good

You will need that extra money for all of the tickets you will be getting for illegal parking in handicap spots.
