Increased performance for Screw

Has anyone used the Airaid Throttle Body Spacer and noticed a difference?
What about the Airaid Cold Air Intake?

I have the 5.4 24valve V8

There are a gazillion threads debunking the throttle body spacer. They are useless on these fuel injected engines unless you like the annoying whistle. The air intake will probably help. But if you want a good boost, visit the chips forum and learn about an Xcal2 tuned by Mike Troyer. You will also learn a lot about the 3 valve engines and how important it is to get the right air intake.

If you want increased performance the first mod you should get is the XCal2. It’s the number one bang for the buck mod, no exceptions. Troll over to the “Chips & Programming” forum and read up on what they can do for a 04 F-150 and newer with the 3-valve engine; big time night and day difference.

The XCal2 is custom programmed specifically for you trucks PCM code so be sure whomever you chose to do the programming is qualified and experienced tuning the new F-150’s

This XCal2 must be something else. I am going to look into it. Many people say that it added better trottle response. When I first got my 05 Screw it was slugish but now its quite lively so I dont know what XCal2 will ad to that.

Thanks

Hand tuners on stock NA gassers don't do much. Other then drain your wallet. They nice to have for code pulling but on a STOCK powerplant IMHO are pretty useless for power gains.

This coming from a guy who has built and worked on many Mustangs both NA and FI. Good luck on your purchase, but these aren't disiels so they don't respond like they do.

An extra 35 to 40 rwhp isn’t nothing to sneeze at IMO

Well my Troyer xcal 2 added 30hp at the rear wheel(dyno tested) and I will take that any day on a bone stock F150.

I've got to see dyno sheets guys. I have honestly NEVER seen 30-40 ponies to the rears from just a hand tuner on a stock NA gasser. Any other mods done?

That’s the straight up numbers TP is getting on the 3-valve with his 93-octane custom tuning

I'd have to agree. I've never seen that much of a gain in a gas engine... diesel maybe...
