You said something about downloading the upgrades with the usb port.
Mine didn't come with and kind of a cables other than power.
Make sure this is possible before you buy.

There is a USB port on the back of your unit, but you need to purchase a USB cable seperately. Look at the manual for the same hand held model and it shows how you can install software on your computer (maybe a laptop) and configure the Magellan 760. Here are the links.
