As many D-Cell mags as I have around the house (they seemed to be a favorite gift from ALL of my relatives for about 3 years for some reason), I think I'll just go with those clips as well.

Thanks for that information!!!!!

Now that's not the RP I know. It's not about what you have around the house to use, it is about what you can purchase and hook up as power accessories.

Well, I've been to Home Depot, Sports Authority, and Sportmart and have not been able to find the clips. Anybody have any other ideas? Also, ReelWork, is your flashlight a D cell or C cell? All the ones I saw in the stores were D cell. I have 4 C cell Maglights so even if I find the clips they may only be for a D cell unit. May have to move up to 5 Maglights if this is the case, but first I've got to find the clips.

Mine are D Cell...

Here's the link from Mag Light

http://www.maglite.com/product_acc.a...ELL&psc=3CCELL

and if you click on the "download catalog/orderform" I believe you can purchase from there.

Here's a dealer I just found also... Price is right!

hey guys, seen all the chatter about those clips for a mag light. i had the same on my jeep ZJ. i got the clips at frye's electronics, here in san diego. most big stores like that will have them, i.e. radio shack. when i got them, they came with mounting clips and i think some spare colored lenses and an anti roll cap that went over the head of the light. they were with all the other mag light hoop-la. if not, always can get them on-line! hope that helps. plus as far as hooking it up to recharge, why go through all the hassle. d batteries will last a while as long as the light is not on and plus if you keep spare in the glove box in baggies separaet from each other, you should have no worries. again, hope the info helps gents.

Thanks for the help Chris and Willie. I look around a little more and if I can't find them locally I'll order them over the internet (the shipping probably as much or more than the clips).

Not sure if this will be what you are lookin for but here goes. I work for an Electric Utility and we have 3 cell Mags in all of our Line trucks. We mount them similiar to the pics here inside drivers door on floor with a stainless type clip you can buy at most hardware stores. They are the type used to hang like brooms and such, we buy the large style and them dip them in rubberized coating the type you use on tool handles, this keeps them from scratching the body of the light. Not exactly the mag light clip shown in the link above but a real nice alternative. Anyway

My charger just plugs into the power point, nice and simple, I have found that if I have a passenger with big feet that my flashlight can get kicked around. I like the mounting on the side of the drivers seat that looks pretty slick, and convenient.

Rog,
If you want I can snap a few pics of them mounted in a few of our trucks so you can get a feel for what it might look like. If your planning on a charger type unit than this of course would be of no use to ya...lemme know and I'll be glad to snap a few
