Question Homelink visor - has anyone.......

Has anyone taken a homelink visor apart? I know this is a longshot but thought I would ask.

Reason I ask... I have a 02 XLT(no power to the visor). I have had a visor(been in my garage for over a year now) that I took out of my Lightning prior to selling that has Homelink/memo note feature. The Lightning visor is too long for my Screw along with the fact that again my Screw has no power to the sun visor. My GOAL is to take the homelink module(I don't even know it is a module or not) out of the visor and put it in the headliner or mount it on the side of the console or something.

I really hate to destroy this visor if it will not work because the visor is practically new and cost over $300 from Ford. I have never really tried to sell it but feel sure I could sell it for $125-175 if I tried. Any opinions are appreciated. Also anyone that would like to cut thier visor open and send me pictures would be great

Actually the visor will install correctly.

I got the NAV visors for my SCrew due to the posting from you on your L. THe one I have is without the memo item.

The power is over the door on the XTL, take out the A pillar cover, and drop the center console, and run your hand over the door jamb, you will feel it taped back against the harness.

One side my harness was not even taped back, it was just stufed back up inside. The XLT has the same harness as the Lariat and KR, so you are good to go with it.

As for taking the visor apart, the cloth is rolled over the edge on 2 plastic halves that are pressed together.
I took apart my old ones to see what they were.

They did not like being torn apart, and would not go back together too easy, if at all after this operation.

Good luck, let me know if you have any questions. If you saved all the parts, it will install directly.

I will have to purchase another visor then. My visor that went on my L will NOT fit due to the length(it is longer than my Screw visors). I will check out my business partners Screw and possibly just order a new visor w/ Homelink and lighted vanity mirror. My visor is only 1 piece also(not 2 parts like in your picture).
