POWR Slider Installed
I recently installed a CR Laurence Power Slider in my 2001 King Ranch SCREW.
Installation was fairly easy with the major exception of removing the factory installed glass. It is simply held in with 12 9mm bolts and a butyl sealant however, cutting through the butyl sealant to release the glass was much more of a chore than I would've ever expected. I spent better than 2 hours cutting away at the butyl and pushing it back; all the time thinking I was going to break the glass and/or bend the frame of the glass.
The glass that I bought was not the upgrade kit from CR Laurence but was a Ford original part (F75Z-15422B30-AA) that I actually found on ebay (believe that or not). I was responsible for finding/installing a switch, all of the wiring, and ensuring that the butyl sealant that actually came on the slider would not leak.
To acheive these tasks, I did a BUNCH of research. Along with the help of several members, we discovered that the factory installed Ford Powr Slider switch was actually a power window switch from the late Ford Contour. Thus, with this ammo in hand, I took a trip to my local junkyard and snatched a switch, along with the wiring harness for less than $20 (versus over $50 buying from the parts counter). Using wiring schematics and a multitude of help from two F150online.com members (SSCULLY, JMC, & dufunnel) I took to wiring it all in.
The wiring was probably the most foreign territory for me to accomplish. I'm the farthest thing from being electrically minded and really worried that I would screw something up on a monumental scale however; as of this moment, all is well.
I wired the switch to tie in with the regular power windows on the truck such that I would have the delayed power on the windows when I turn the truck off (ie: that 5-10 minute window that you can operate your windows after the truck being in the 'ON' position - a delayed relay). To accomplish this, I had to find a certain connector that was located below the fuse block (C248) and pull power off of the 2nd pin of that connector. It should also be mentioned that the factory set up pulls power off of this same circuit (#400). Naturally, I put an in-line 20A fuse on the power source to the switch to prevent something nasty happening to the slider motor.
I ran the wiring from the back of the truck along the threshold on the driver's side and up behind the kick panel to the switch mounting location.
I obviously had to cut a new hole in my dash to mount the switch. This was where my one major (kind of major) screw up took place. I didn't square the switch up to match exactly with the pedals switch. Long story short, I got in a hurry and didn't pay attention but, it's not too bad. I can't do anything about it now because if I mess with it further, there will be a slight gap in the dash between the switch. So, I'm just going to leave it alone and live with it.
All of my grounds were splice connected off of the grounds for the pedals switch. I also pulled illumination power from the same harness thus, yes, the switch lights up when the lights are on.
If any of you are interested in seeing the progression of this project, feel free to check out the following links:
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...threadid=73729 <-- this is a link from the King Ranch Forum where we figured out the switch part number and realized that the switch was the same out of the Contour (among other things)
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...hreadid=105776 <-- this is where all of the electrical information is located. Thanks again SSCULLY and JMC!
And finally, here are some pictures. There's not much to look at as I simply neglected to take pictures 'during' the installation (which I really wish I would've done now considering how much went into it). Oh well, life shall go on.

Again, thanks to SSCULLY, JMC, and dufunnel but, I neglected to mention my wife. She actually stuck with me through the entire installation process and added support (mostly moral) when I needed it.
I guess I'm still all sappy from V'tines Day or something... hehehe...

Whoooo hoooo!!! Front page!
That means I get the 'hookup' doesn't it? LOL
I'll take a couple of 'better pics' later once the weather breaks and bounce those over. That pic doesn't do the glass justice... too much glare. I'll take care of that.
