Another Reason Not to Buy a Dodge
DaimlerChrysler wants to build cars in IRAN !!! Don't let a little thing like Iran being the biggest participant in State sponsored terrorism get in the way of making a buck, or rather a mark.
Chrysler/Dodge has been hijacked by these jokers in Germany!!!

Warning political views ahead that may raise your blood pressure, regardless of if you agree or not...
Ah capitalism... There is no morality in it, just pure greed that’s all. How can I get cheap labor?
Of course if they get too much bad press then it will hurt them more than it will do them good. On a different note I have nothing against the people of China but I don't care for the idea that we are supporting the economy of an oppressive communist government where on top of that the cash flow from China to the US is minimal.
Yes we get cheaper products but to what end must corporations continue to go to make an extra buck. Don't hear much about the rain forest being cut down any more, that’s because the corporations all over the world also own the media and well as they say, the pen is mightier than the sword....
Sorry to vent on some political believes/views.
Oh yea and so not to be a hypocrite, Ford assembles and uses parts from the US, Canada, Mexico, and many other countries.
Except IRAN is a known terrorist state, Mexico is not! DChrysler doesn't seem to care.
I think this goes beyond a question of capitalism. Should DChrysler be allowed to build in Iraq too? or North Korea?

Oklahoma is a known terrorist state too. So is Montana (by your definition). That doesn't mean that everyone in the U.S. sponsors or agrees with the terrorists that came out of there.
Afghanistan was (or still is ??) a known terrorist state. Yet, once we invaded and disrupted the Taliban (which was in the minority, as population goes), many of the native peoples were glad to see them go as well. So, are they still a terrorist state or do they simply have terrorists living there ?
How can you complain about anyone building there when YOU (and everyone else who drives, for that matter) purchase products that come from all kinds of "known terrorist states" ?? (oil, gasoline, etc.) Do you really believe that the U.S. never buys oil (even in an in-direct method) from Iraq, Iran, etc. ? Do you really believe the current drama unfolding is really about weapons of mass destruction ? Why is it that North Korea, China, India, Pakistan, Great Britain, France, Russia and the U.S.A. possess these weapons but we feel that no one else should ?
I'm allowed to buy a gun and keep it to protect my home, but I don't think you should be able to. You OK with that?
Who was our biggest enemy on the earth from 1945 - 1990 ?? The same country we bought billions of dollars worth of titanium from during the same time frame... The U.S.S.R. (to build weapons to protect us from them... How ironic!!)
BTW, don't think the U.S. doesn't sponsor terrorism when we think we need it. You are just not told about it until many years later and then it typically is glamorized somehow as well.
Don't take me wrong - I love my country and I hate what those towel-heads did (and are doing) to us. But Americans have got to learn to start dealing with facts and stop being so politically correct. There is no weapon, no matter how high tech, that can defeat the Arab mindset. You have to beat them at their own level (mass destruction and annihilation). Anything else is a waste of time.
Simply put, they hate our ideals and what the U.S. and it's policies represent more than we all love our F150's !! That kind of human drive is not beatable with conventional warfare. Ask the Vietnamese and the Afghans. The 2 mightiest nations on the earth did not win politically correct wars with those 3rd world countries, even though they did not possess any appreciable technology of their own.
I'll shut up now... Sorry about the rant, but we really do need to wake up and smell the oil... (oops, I meant coffee)

B-Man brings up a good point. Many of us, including myself sometimes, generalize against an entire country instead of just a group that happens to reside there.
It is easier to say that Iraq is a horrible country than to say well Suddam and his followers are the ones that are the problem. The same is for many countries that happen to have terrorist in there borders. Some goverments don't want them there and some are a part of the group!

Sure sounds like it...

Fords Rule !!!
I read an artical that this newspaper editor in Iran did an survay on the collage campuses and found that 80% of the students want to normalize relations with the west, particually the United States....he was jailed for subversion....I have some friends that are from Iran and they say that is the the feelings of the majority of Iranians,to normalize relations with the west and to instill a democratic goverment...remember they came from a monarchy to a religious cotrolled goverment and both have seem to have faultered..they're ready for a change...and when the US does it's thing in Iraq,I wouldnt be surprised to hear of strikes and other things coming out of Iran to try and destabilize the goverment and temp the US to intervine (the 'terrorist state' thing could be Bush's pretext if everything goes real well in Iraq)..just my dus centavos
Warning: More political views ahead..
Daimler building cars in Iran, are they doing this for local comsumption like the plant in UAE ? DC has a plant there, for all the local purchases, so they don't have to import the finished product, kind of like Japan does with cars in the US
If they want to do that, why should the US care.
Mexico has had problems with them taking care of thier own, and problems with Drug lords runinng the place, does the US still make cars there ?
Why does the US not care, they have what they need. Beyond that they don't give 2 craps about what goes on locally, no matter how much bleeding heart crap pours out of thier mouths.
China treats their people like crap, what does the US do about it, give them MFN status yet again. Why they have what they need from them, no need to do anything else then.
There are other countries developing weapons of mass distruction, does the US invade them ? No why they have what they need from them.
The Economist did an artical on oil imports, 55% of the oil imported into the US came from Canada. The other 45% is between OPEC, Russia and South America ( yes S.A does have quite a bit of cheap oil exports, cheaper then OPEC nations ).
If we want to talk about supporting Terrorist states, the French Company Elf has drilling rights in Iraq. Why does the US do business with a country that supports them then ?
Also take a guess why France does not support the invasion of Iraq.
Russia learned a lesson from Afganistan and the support by the US. They learned to keep out of other counties and mind your own business. Guess why they don't want to support the invasion of Iraq, they learned the lesson that the US tought them.
The US needs to learn that they are not the morality police of the world, and unless poked in the eye with a stick, STFO, and cut off all the aid that pours out of the US citizens pockets.
Tony blair is behind the US I think b/c he thinks he is Winston Churchill, or at least wants to be know as the next Winston.

Bottom line.... The world is totally inter-connected and the global economy is very complex. Everyone needs everyone else for something, it's just that the US happens to be the largest consumer base in the world.
If you as a person do not like the way a company does business, don't buy their product. We as consumers have the power to decide.
Unforutnatly there are a few execeptions to this, we all need gas (for our gas guzzling trucks) and the oligopoly (almost monopoly) with the oil companies forces us all to pay the piper at the pump.
I don't lose sleep at night because a few cents (or more) that I spent on gas that day may end up supporting terrorist groups. You just can't live your life like that wondering about the morality of how money is passed around the world.
Can't we all just get along????
