that is very normal. the electric fans decrease drag on the motor.

BlownScrew,

What price, brand, type, of twin 16 inch electric fans did you use? Where did you get them? Did it come with all the wiring, etc, needed? Did you wire one fan to the a/c compressor?

I went with 2 16" Hayden fans directly mounted to the radiator with no shroud. No problems as of yet. One is hooked up to the a/c compressor, the other to the hayden controler(relay with a temp switch) I payed 80each for the fans and 30 for the controller. Ill take some picks tomorrow.

BlownScrew,

Thanks for the info. I had heard that going with oem single fans like the Mark VII or VIII or Crown Vic were superior to aftermarket. Then of course, Neal reminded me that, if the single fan unit goes out, your screwed!

Under $200 bucks for the entire new set up is a great deal. My local autozone only has 14 inch fans. But, I noticed Neal and now you, have the 16s. But with out any shroud, they still cool temps down fast enough?

I was going to do the underdrive pullies and the electric fan(s) at the same time. Then I heard that with a supercharger (My Magna kit will be here soon) you can not run underdrive pullies?

I live in miami, and Its 86-90 here and humidity is up there. I run my a/c always and I drive hard! My temp does not go past 200 degrees. It stays around 190-196.

Ive got the flexalite dual 14" fans setup w/shroud,and never had a temp problem...
And hey Blownscrew,, i'm in pembroke pines,we should cruise to Moroso one day...gotta get tires first tho
....And as far as Neil's setup...he's in Canada so mother nature is on his side as far as cool temps..
Oh. and skid...how would an electric fan increase boost....the max boost rate would be dependent on rpm, and intake air restrictions.Switching to electric fans would help engine rev quicker under load(because off less engine load).I would think the only way to gain boost is changing pulley sizes, making the intake tract less restrictive,or raising the shiftpoints..at least w/ati
Not saying your wrong,,,but why would it happen?

Cool

HI!... ganiman : As for "mother nature being on my side". It's actually the opposite. Here in WINDSOR we get more humidity than 95% of north america. We have no SPRING or FALL here. We go from terribly COLD WINTERS to REALLY HOT SUMMERS right away. Our SPRING to FALL temps around here are mostly from 80-105 degree's and that's not counting the 80% and up humidity all the time. In other words when it's only 80 degree's outside, it feels like 95 degree's. It's really hard on cooling systems. It just bothers me when people see that your from CANADA that they think you have SNOW 90% of the time and speak FRENCH and live in frickin IGLOO's!!!!!!! Lower ONTARIO gets better weather than half of the USA most of the time.

I hear ya neal....goz to show what i know bout canadians(except what i saw in the south park movie ...i'm in s.florida so i understand humidity....but i definitely stand corrected:P....
Oh and hey neil....w/ the 411's you have i personally think you should get an ati, but thats just me....magnas just dont seem to flow as much at high rpm's where most of the 1/4 mile is fought....besides...think of 30# of boost to look forward to

Frank
