not that you're gonna listen anyway
I was coming back from vacations when I answered that last message, was tired and skipped the part where they weren't manufacturing the controller anymore

Hi.

Read this from the fan specs linked to above ( and yes, the typo is theirs):

--This 12 volt fan has an output of approximately 3000 CFM,and would be a quality addition to any vehicle.

--This fan has a very low amp draw-14 amps to statr and 6-7 running.

--200 Watt motor,Heavy Duty fan.

Now - go and read the specs from the RF-269 posted earlier. Or even the Derale Tornado's specs in a TP efan kit.

I'm here to tell you, those fleabay fans specs are BS. Simply put - it is IMPOSSIBLE for a fan to be drawing only 6-7 running amps AND produce 3,000 CFM. Physically impossible - there is an energy deficit that is not being accounted for. true 3,000 rpm into a load requires FAR more than "6-7 amps running".

"200 watt" motors eh? Multiply 7 amps X 12 volts = 84 watts. That should have been yer wake-up call right there.

I won't even broach the subject of just how severely performance degrades by running a fan designed as a 'puller' in a 'pusher' configuration. Fans actually designed as 'pushers' have even higher current requirements to achieve the same rated CFM, due to the added 'stacked' air pressure impediment between the fan and rad surface that must be overcome ( given proper sealing ).

They are falsely advertised GARBAGE. Like most all fleabay no-name efans of their ilk.

For all of the many, many $$$ folks have invested in engine builds, boost, and other go-fast parts, It's patently inexplicable to me to then turn around and run engine cooling components that are of low cost, unknown quality, suspect capability and reliability. THAT DOES NOT COMPUTE !!! lol

Amazing that, to this day, after all that has been posted and published on this topic, folks still refuse to listen. I'm just trying to help, so please .... put down that crossbow

I. Give. Up.

MGD out.

Crash read above!... I never posted anything about amp draw. You are full of false information again. I can't understand why anyone reads you worthless posts.

My efans cost $33k.... They did come wrapped in a 2013 F150 Ecoboost...

They have some serious wiring to them and feel confident with their operation, since they are OEM..

I've had OEM efans on different vehicles since my 84 Daytona Turbo Z... All 4 banger front wheel drive vehicles BTW..

Never even considered them for my 86 Mustang GT or 97 F150..

Good luck!

Mitch

I will be buying flex a lite fans if needed on my next project. Reason being they have taken care of me not once but 3 times. Bought there whole set up almost 10yrs ago now.

Replaced a defective vsc free of charge and shipping 2008
Replaced 2 fan motors. 2009
Replaced 2 fan blades 2013

I personally know of no such CS in world that stands behind there product like this. Even when the blades where not related to a flex a lite fail.

I'm not an employee or affiliate in anyway shape. Just blown away at there support almost 10 yrs later.

I run the Flex-a-lite FAL270 kit and it works great, however you may want to review the Flex-a-lite FAQ. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/frequent-questions/

"What's the best type of fan to have on a vehicle that frequently tows ?
A good heavy duty clutch and clutch fan. This combination allows for the best air flow to fuel economy ratio."

The Flex-a-lite web site claims 17-20 HP, but on what engine? I remember on this site someone did run a 5.4 3V on the dyno and took the fan on and off. If I remember right they were getting 09~11 HP difference.

I added an efan to a 3.8L V6 and you could feel the differnce. On the 5.4 you can't. I think the smaller the engine the more an efan helps. Anyway, I like the way it looks and working in the engine compartment is much easier. If your a DIY'er you will appreciate the extra room. Worth the money just for that, in my opinion.

You can feel it in throttle response.

Agreed. The colder ac at idle and low speeds is also a huge benefit. One of the reasons I don't buy the bs argument about belt driven fans being better for towing. If that were true the new trucks wouldn't have efans and higher towing abilities. If the belt driven fan moved more air our ac wouldn't suck at idle and when poking around town.

Plus I've never seen belt driven fans move this much air. Keep in mind they are pulling thru the rad, condenser and Supercharger heat exchanger http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v6KSw-JU-U4

I've heard every argument under the sun about which fan is better. I know that the dual 15's I have easily keep my truck cool and improve mileage, engine rap up (throttle response) and the AC run cooler in the summer. I would recommend variable control and multiple triggers IE extra temp sensor, AC, and a manual over ride switch. Can never be to careful or thorough.

I bought the parts Jason suggested, 2010 efan, painless controller, flex a lite, now I just need to find someone to do it for me, and when it comes to do things out of the book, garages in my area suck

I'm trying to negotiate with a ford dealer to do it for me but its tough
