So the truck weighed in at 5260lbs in race form. A far cry from the 5600lbs she is on the streets. The DA was 470' which makes the corrected time 12.47@108.87.
Perfect day for racing no doubt.

Yeah. According to all the calculators an additional 100 crank hp would put me at 11.6@114

You bet. Got keep all those non-existent 12 sec 3V Procharger trucks at bay
As for a build, I talked to Manny yesterday evening at http://mhpengines.com/contact_us
I was considering ordering the forged parts from him but he can do the build using my block and crank including shipping for what it would cost me to order the parts and have a local shop do it for. Here's the details.
Manley Forged Rods & Pistons
Total Seal Rings
Clevite Bearings
ARP Main Studs
New freeze plugs
Bore .020 over, deck the block, line hone, internal balance, polish the crank (will only cut it if needed)
Shipping both ways
$2400
I don't know of anyone with a better reputation or lower price.

imo, you are there, the point at which the truck is fun, reliable and no regrets, able to hang stop light to stop light with some very fast cars.

if you go forged, built whatever, you will kill the fun factor of a fast daily drive. go back to the lightnings and all of those guys will tell you mid to low 12's was the most fun.

been doing this a long time and i see all these guys that start at point a and have a blast, make a fast daily driver that surprises most (this is the best) then end up with a weekend or trailer queen and the dream dies, followed by a dead battery and old gas in the tank and 3 or 4 years latter getting rid of or parked taking up garage space with the other "projects" never to see the light of day again

Yea I agree on the lightning part. Most of the guys I know made them into track beast. Nothing wrong with built bottom end and tuning the truck to its potential. With that said, everyone wants more eventually and the truck gets more track only at that point

Congratulations on the achievements, but, I think, most satisfacion is given by the record used to obtain the satisfaction that you feel today, and hope for the future by the new results.

Dang you beat me!

I might have to splash some race gas over my 1 year old 93 octane and see what my race tune will do ;-P

Got it yesterday. Definitely gonna need some adjustments. Start up and idle are perfect. Shift points around town are good. Thats about all I can say for it. Knew it would be a challenge. Just gonna take some time and communication.

No sir. Stock Whipple heat exchanger. Only mod for cooling is the Jabsco high volume pump. IAT's peaked at 116F crossing the traps. Thats up a whopping 8 degrees from the start line. Not bad. I'll be installing a GT500 HE soon. A little larger and thicker.

I don't disagree with you at all Brotherdave. I've even given thought to just doing a built short block and bolting her back together. Maybe cams maybe not. It would save a lot coin and I wouldn't cringe at the thought of a snapping a rod. I already have a 3.125 pulley and i could use it. That would bring boost up. Probably hit an easy 550rwhp and have it be just as streetable. I don't know. Wheels are turning though.
