I have the OBX long tubes as well. I used allen head bolts in place of the studs. I tightened the heck out of them 2 or 3 times. The headers were really hard to get on. And the header bolts are a pain in the butt to get too. Not worth it in my opinion. I have no cats and 2.5 duals. Mine don't leak because I have retightened them, but they did before. The truck is a little louder than I need. All in all I'm not sure if they really made that big a difference. The quality of the OBX was great though. And I paid $475 for all of it shipped. No issues with the fitment either.

The OBX kit is "supposedly" a Dynatech knock-off, but they are NOT exactly the same. One costs a little more than 1/3 the price of the other. Dynatechs have 1 5/8 primaries with different bends than the OBX with 1 3/4 primaries.

I, contrary to some others, was not pleased with the overall quality/professionalism of the OBX kit. The packaging for the collector flange bolts and gaskets was poor and the gaskets flaked apart, crumbled like chalk, and parts stuck to the packaging. Supplied papers were also . . . interesting.

Just because Jason said he has had a good experience with them, you all of a sudden are all over them and in support of using them, Crash? I have the same exact set, as well as dozens of others! Which I had already said. I don't have a tone in writing this, I just think it's funny.

Again, I would buy the exact same set over again because of how cheap they are and how well they seemed to fit. BUT, I feel Stainless Works or another would be a more professionally done kit. Many have had a good experience, some have not. Stealth regrets his OBX purchase and is still chasing down an exhaust leak, just to throw that out there.

Cheapest and where most of us ordered from:

I've also assembled a thread that includes other threads and lists info that is 95% complete for everything you need to do it yourself from start to finish:

Anyway... Jason is right. Why pay more for the same thing? He has a very good point. The reason I asked about the INTAKE first is to test the water. Now I know the sound with a decent gain is of importance here, not racing for tenths.
Is all I was referring to - the above comments. So I'm not understand what I "misunderstood."

Everything else in post #23 was just me stating things, not directing anything at you. So I apologize for any confusion. I did my headers 90% for sound, because HP for dollar is NOT there, like you said, even at $500 for OBX. To be honest, I noticed very little to no power increase with the long tubes AND custom 5Star tunes added at the same time. I just had to have that head-turning, obnoxiously loud sound and couldn't get it any other way! And it ain't loud enough . . . lol

Your HOA actually made you remove it? That sucks. My exhaust is all different kinds of illegal and my neighborhood is full of foreigners that don't even like that I play basketball without a shirt on . . . and I haven't been talked to haha. I want my damn resonators out now, or maybe take the Borla out and keep them

My vote OBX for the value. They certainly worked well for me.
Almost seems like one would be burning money to buy something for three times the price . That has basically proven itself on this forum rite here. Aside from the very few complaints. As we all know when something is mass produced theres bound to be a few problems.Just my .02

I'm not Jason, Twinscrewed is Jason...?

Also, yes ticking noise is normal with headers. Every vehicle I have put headers on has ticking after. You can use header wrap to try to eliminate some noise.

You are indeed not Jason . . . I know twinskrewd is Jason. It takes time to learn names on here, and I'm as bad with them here as I am in person. I blame this one on Crash though! Haha

Good to know, thanks. That's the first time I've gotten someone to definitely say "yes, they absolutely cause ticking." More reason to not worry about it. I don't particularly mind the ticking, just don't want em leaking.

What is jet coat? I like being able to see all the shiny stainless I paid so dearly for lol. The 4x4 set listed on the sparctec page should be exactly what you're after. Other members have purchased from that for their 4x4

The jet hot coat will look much prettier than the stainless, like shiny silver, helps keep heat in and everthing, I guess I'll order the 4wd versions still in sure on my boost

Oh! Well that's pretty neat, is it a form of or similar to a ceramic coating? I think I associated "jet" with "jet black" subconsciously. The 4wd should just have modified/shortened collectors to clear the t-case. Diagnosing lack of boost is way over my head though
