OFF TOPIC, but important...

About the trans temp... Trans temps should stay in check as long as you're not power braking... But with the power you make, you shouldn't need to. With a 1.73 60', it seems it's hooking. Do you have to do serious burnouts to get traction? You should be able to drive around the bleach box, back into it, and roll out (To avoid spinning water into the wheel wells and have it drip back down on the tires), then light 'em up all the way to the line before you stage.

Do you have the towing package? I see what looks like a Class III hitch, but not sure. I want to make sure you have the dual core radiator.

Side note- We have a failsafe cooling system. I have proven it works too. I blew a heater hose one day. I drove 125 of 250 miles back to Tulsa from Dallas- With NO COOLANT. It goes into failsafe mode, trips the light, and goes into a controlled misfire condition. This way, the misfires allow the dead strokes to cool each cylinder down. In other words, it fires a cylinder in order, and then the next time that cylinder is to fire, it gets no fuel. And the cycle continues. It runs like crap, but it will get you home with NO damage.
I don't have to do a long burn out. Just a short one and I'm good. With QA1 dual adjustable shocks, Caltrec traction bars, & M&H Racemaster Drag Radials she bites and goes. Well enough to spin the rim in the tire but only about an 1". Here's a video which will show you my burnout.

I do have the towing package with the trans cooler and hitch setup. However I'm pretty sure the radiator is a single core. I've been considering switching out to a dual core and there's no doubt I will when I go built. For now she cools quite well.

Importance of EGT

Crash! quote from above post:

"On a blown engine, I concur with the 3 you posted, but go ahead and ADD the EGT if feasible... These are the most critical gauges to monitor on a supercharged engine because they can indicate failures that can cause IMMEDIATE engine damage under load under boost... And Twinscrewd really has a good idea in monitoring the EGTs as well. I am taking his advice."

Q: What is the import of the EGT? Why advisable when you have AF? Does it have to do with E-85 and "skewing" of wideband AF readouts with ethanol in fuel? I think I read that in a Twinskrewd post someplace....

Doesn't yer s--t go South so fast when you start detonating that you won't get a lot of warning from EGT temps before the rods shatter? Or is it like "when you start running higher EGTs than normal, avoid WOT even though AF ratios look OK, something is goofy....?"

I like it too....but if I get another I'd rather have one each side...the way I sit the steering wheel partially blocks the top one...better than an A-pillar pod...imo

what do you guys think about aeroforce gauges?

it looks like you can get for $400 2 gauges that will be displaying 2 values per gauges (and they can cycle up to 8 values)
so I can get my boost, AF wideband, fuel pressure and that EGT right?

Thx.

Been thinking about getting a pocket dash switch thing from 12fast4u. I see you went nuts purchasing about every item he sells.

Made some changes over the weekend. Did away with my triple pillar pod and made use of dual pod over the stereo. In addition I have the Roush vent pod, and I did away with the useless coin holder and turned it in to a mounting spot for the trans temp.
