04-08 F150 Roush Supercharger Mechanical Boost Gauge Tap-In

I had a hard time finding this info online and without pics or not having install the blower myself I had no idea where to hook/tap-in for a mechanical boost gauge. I tried to take a decent pick of where it's at but it's pretty far back there so I copy/pasted some of the pics from my Roush manual. If you have questions please ask and hopefully Google picks this thread up.

If you are starring from the front of the truck it's on the right side of the motor toward the very back and if you use the picture as reference you'll see the area you need to be around. In the BOTTOM picture #1 is the vacuum line for my gauge already hooked up but you should have a rubber cap placed over it as shown in the second picture. Either way there should be two connectors with the #2 connector already being in use by the IPTS sensor which is also shown in the second picture.

Here is the IPTS Sensor in all its glory. You can trace the side connector to where you need to be for vacuum line access.

Here is the best shot by far without the blower on. The pink/light red color is the IPTS cable and toward the back of the intake is the connection you need. It's capped off in the photo but this ladies and gents is your vacuum line connection for a mechanical boost gauge.

And finally a photo of a finished and very crowded install. It's not that hard to slip your hand back there and attach a line so you shouldn't have to disconnect the cable completely unless you want to.

Hopefully this helps put everything in perspective with multiple shots. Now if you want to know how to get that vacuum line from the engine bay and through the firewall that's my other thread located here: https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...iver-side.html

I tapped into the FPT pressure / vacuum line. There's a cap that can be removed from the Roush line. I ran a 3 inch vacuum line to the AEM sender.

Cool. This is just what Roush recommends and considers their dedicated connection for a boost gauge.

Yeah the only straight forward connection.

If IDE a known. IDE a drilled and tapped a hole directly into the manifold.

the pictures of the OP aren't showing anymore

I have an autometer boost/vacuum gauge, I don't know where to plug the T and I don't know the technical terms, if someone could show me with arrows where to plug it that would be great!

I plugged it after disconnecting the Roush solenoid box but I'm only getting vacuum readings.. also how to you secure the tubing into the adapter?

Right. Do you see the fuel pressure sensor in the first pic? See the 120* elbow that pushes onto the FRPS? Follow it behind the head unit, you should see a 90 going into the manifold? Ontop of the elbow there's a Vac cap. That's the place to tap in. Alternatively you will need to replace that hose with flexy silicone and tap into it mid length.

Edit: I think it's the hard line with the white label R07040028.

I secured the brass barb to the vac lines with lug clips (Propane connectors)

But there's no need as 8 - 12 psi won't blow it off.

I'm sorry I don't know what is what when I look at this picture, if you have time I'd love that you use paint like I did with a red arrow to show me where lol

Where can I learn all of this stuff? :s

No worries. I am on an I-Phone so no paint.

Am sure someone will help you out.

You can download the instal manual and study it for a while. It's probably the best install manual for any of the newer body blower kits.

Ha Ha Ha you nailed it.

Not sure about securing those lines, mines just pushed on there with no problems.

I am tapped in in the exact spot as the "pink" line in the picture, have a +4 pound lower and a 3.1 upper. I should be making about 10PSI. I get the Boost gauge up to 6PSI but at that point I am going 85 mph and need to slow down. I want to see 10PSI on the gauge but I don't go that fast on the roads around here.

My ProCharger kit in my other truck hits 10 PSI when I nail it at WOT. It only takes a few seconds to kick in in at 10 PSI. I can feel it too.

Do you guys get 10-12PSI from your Roush upon WOT or do you have to wait until 110 MPH to see it?

Jeff

Do you have a 04-08 Roush kit? Did you remove anything other than a black cap back where that pink line runs too?

Roots blowers such as the Roush are different than centrifugal blowers like ProChargers and anything with an impeller. Roots blowers get max power as soon as you hit WOT so if you get 6psi now it ain't going any higher no matter how fast you go. If you have a Roush check out this thread, it's easy and if you get your other 4psi back after doing it let me know.

I did the JDM mods just like the link showed. I did it when I changed the lower pulley.
