If I do anything at all in the direction of a built short block I would like to get between 550-600rwhp. 700-750 flywheel. No doubt someone looking to make 700rwhp would need a much larger tb like you have and the Lightning guys run. Something in the neighborhood of 1350cfm.

I'm happy with the truck as is and honetly I've lost the desire to put the money in it to get 700+rwhp as originally planned. A little more power would be fine but I don't want to get into needing stronger axles, head studs, a third fuel pump, etc. (need to sell my 80lb injectors since I doubt they will ever get opened). To many other things I want to do. I want another Harley getting that bug again and I have spent nearly ever spare second of my life for the last year and a half restoring a 53' Hatteras Yacht with my business partner. She is just about ready to put back in the water and thats where I'll be found the majority of the time.

I feel about the same way...

I will probably get some slight head work/cams but other then that and the short block that's about it.

I just want to be to beat the hell out of the truck like a teenager again. Built motor making 550rwhp should be able to handle that easily.

That's fair enough guy.

Sounds like you lot need a flat cap, wax jack and a smoking pipe lol.

It ain't just about 'Spending money' It's about custom work, making one off stuff and getting the desired effect off my own back.

End of the day, I could take my rig to JDM's, send them a blank cheque every month then eventually pick up a 9 second truck (Yawn Yawn) that's what most Lightning guys do.

My biggest issue is I have other toys that no matter what i do to this truck they will be faster, quicker, handle better, etc.

Maybe it's time to sell up then mate?

Your other toys maybe faster but that's all they are.

Sleeper F150 with 600+ wheel is far far cooler IMO.

I plan on going all out on mine also, well I'm going all out right now with suspension racing wheels and a bad *** rear end. Iv got a bunch of pics but just waiting till it's all complete to post pics. I will still have my nitrous built motor but after I make a couple of nitrous passes I'm going to change pistons and cams for forced induction. Then start my turbo built hope to make 1,000+ rwhp with the turbo

Nah nothing like that. More like 50 miles offshore, diesel fumes, a rum'n coke, and the TLD 25 screaming cause theres a fish a on.

I agree with you completely with doing the work yourself and the accomplishment that comes with it. I did my research, shopped for deals, and I've done everything to mine except the tune and fuel system and even with those things Mike let me be apart of it. End of the day I have exactly what I want. A truck in the 12's, that I can help a buddy move with or drive cross country without giving it a minutes thought. It's dependable, can work, and it's a blast to drive. I hope to have it and enjoy it for many years to come. And while I'd love to take it to 700rwhp I just can't bring myself to sink another $10k or more in it. To many other things to do.

That's why i'm keeping it. I do love the truck, and having 550-600rwhp is pretty sweet and fun to drive in a truck.

Hell yes it is even 450+ is a hell of a good time. I wouldn't sale or even think of selling if I were you. We have both put a lot in to our rides and have damn nice trucks. Theres no better feeling than wanting what you have.

Yes. Recieved an email from Accufab last week stating: "Part #F84.5 for the new 2011-2013 5.0. It is a drive by wire and uses the stock TPS."

This is great news. It flows better than the Ford unit without the bulk that will create mounting problems. I'm going to start searching for a deal. I'll post up what I find. I want the 1lb of boost thats being stifled and the efficency it's costing. I predict my VE will rise to 180% with this mod. Should easily lay down 500rwhp without additional strain on the motor.

Pics? Link to parts? Sounds awesome. Might have to reconsider my options.

Just pulled the trigger on the Accufab 84.5mm tb. Got a hoiliday discount and free shipping. Come to find out Accufab makes the 84.5mm tb for Ford Motorsports as well but I'm not paying $50 extra for the Ford stamp. I suspect they make the 90mm unit for Ford as well. Not sure. Either way this one should flow just fine for what i need. Just hoping it won't need a tune to use it right now. I don't think it will. If it does I will likely start moving forward with a built motor. Thinking I will use my block and crank since down time with the truck is not an issue. Then I will give JDM a crack at tuning it.
