I dont think anyone has the right size rim to run the 555s. They are all low profile tires and I think Twin is on 20s and fatherford is on 17s or 18s? I'm on 18s.

If all goes as planned I'm taking tomorrow off. Gonna wash, wax, steam clean interior, change the oil, fuel filter, and plugs. Then I'm going drag racing Saturday with a new tune Mike sent me Tuesday evening. Can't wait to see how the strategy plays out along with my mandrel bent exhaust system. Super stoked right now! Wanting that elusive 12.5 run. Mike says there's another 35-40rwhp in the tune but we are not doing it as it could prove fatal very quickly. I did not realize how detuned she was. This new tune has some more timing and a leaner mixture at the start. Up'd the 1-2 shift to 5600 rpm. A few other changes in the mid range as well.

So your exhaust is done....how do you like the new sound? Drone? You did new piping with two mufflers (di/do inline) and resonators as well. iirc.

Thats correct. New 304 SS pipes with mandrel bends, 2 mufflers and double wall 4" tips. SI/SO but no resonators. At least not yet lol. I love the sound! Quiet idle and just a little growl at speed. However there is an odd and annoying tone that comes in between 68-76mph. It's not bad just one of the things. I'm going to put some sound deading material in the truck and that should take care of it. I may add resonators once the mufflers are broke in but right now I'm very pleased with the sound. Hope to take some vids this weekend.

I tried my troyer tune again yesterday. I made it about 5 blocks before I went back to vmp tune. I'd loved to drive yours twinscrewd and see how your throttle behaves

Nice work Actually not DI/DO, but true dual exhaust! I have long tubes with resonnators, no cats, X pipe and dual Maggies as well. Agree, quiet at idle, barks on acceleration/load. No issues at 69mph. I love when I back off the gas and it sounds like a Harley

OBTW I drive mine almost everyday, have 185K miles and now pullied at 16lbs of boost. Love it

Yep corrected my post. I was so used to it being di/do single with a single muffler lol. What resonators are you running? And did you add them later or when you installed the mufflers. I'm looking at these http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/ctg...R/prod/VP-1792

Running OBX long tubes with their resonators where the rear cats would be. I also put factory cat grilles over them. Not sure what they do for sound, but I do know that these trucks get real loud with no cats. Tailpipes run out back on each side. L's and HD's both had DI/DO mufflers. I love to drive around, deselect overdirve and let off on the gas to hear the exhaust rumble. Or be in low gear in a parking garage or bridge and hit the gas, the growel is joyful. On my Cobra with sidepipes (no cats or real mufflers) the bridge trick is impressive. Of course with that vehicle I just hit the gas in any gear and let the revs build as the rear tires break loose

No kidding. My cats are in place but contain nothing. While I'm typically against this I figured mine would trashed fairly quickly with the a/f's I run. I was really surprised at the difference it made in sound. The truck sounds amazing and when I punched it the other night in third going about 85mph with overdrive deselected I was grinning ear to ear over the sound but nearly crapped a brick when she hit 14psi. Can't wait to get some sound clips together. Do you run 16psi on the stock internals?

Do you have your car featured anywhere online? I would love to see more pics. The 64 427SC is one of my dream cars. Jack Roush has or had one. I got to see it back in the late 90's. I needed a bib to keep up with the

I installed the eaton at 90K, intially at 6lbs then slowly went to 12lbs. At 120K, started getting raw oil on tail gate. So pulled engine down, looked good, except exhaust valve guide which where all worn. The boost evidently hammers the exhaust valves. Installed L steel crank, fordged H beam rods and forged piston. Rebuilt heads and installed with ARP studs for good clamp up. Ported eaton, plenum ten +8 lower. Nothin specials but then this truck is daily driver and has only been to drag strip once on street tires (no traction, so a lot of spinning of 285/50-20's through first and second gear).

WRT Cobra, mines a replica. I built a 351W stroked to 393 ci making about 500hp at the flywheel. At 2500lb vehicle weight and a 3.70 nine inch rear contolled by a true 4 link, its fun to hit the gas and at least go straight, even if the tires are smokin. Basically its straight pipes so it sounds a lot like a HD motorcycle.

Awesome engine bay. That kinda of power to weight ratio has got to be a blast. I would like to a replica myself one day.
