GMS COPs

Anybody running these? I haven't read much about them. I'm not having any trouble, and was wondering if they are worth getting just for the sake of an "upgrade". When would they be a "necessity"?

I think they probably work as advertised, but they are not nearly as reliable as the stock units. Seems everyone that has used them have had failures occur to the point they went back to the stock COPs. I've been running them since I installed my supercharger and had one fail after a year. I'm due for a plug change in the near future and I plan to go back with the stock COPs, but will use the "wires" from the GMS coils.

Wast of money in my opinion. $540. bucks. For hype!

You can get the stock Motorcraft for about 45. bucks a piece at rock auto! That's $180 cheaper and they work better and last longer.

Now ,I did just perches a set on the solid GMS wires for about 100 bucks but have not installed them yet. But I have heard good reviews from people that have installed them.
So you should try a set of theres and save yourself 440. bucks!

Yea GMS connector kits are solid. As far as coils, I have 2 set of motorcrafts with a failed few from each set. 2 sets of Global "GAMMA" coils that are good and have been running since 05. So I've have problems w/motorcraft personally while others have problems with Global Coils, - not one of those have failed, but yea these are marked "GAMMA" parts and I'm not sure what Global is selling now. It's nice having a known "good set" of 8 on stand by lol. You really can trust any coils out of the box IMO.

I don't know if they are using a 'generic' picture or not. If you look at the COP's pictured, they are DG-508......NOT the DG-511's which are the ones for the 3V motors. I ran into this with GMS a while ago. Their response was "they should work"..well...they wont !! It's a pigtail problem where they plug in. The 3V motors have that connection almost straight up where these don't. Besides all that...don't waste your money on them MC's are better or, as jbrew says the "GAMMA" ones from Global. If you want to spend a few $$ get the connector kits from GMS, they are worth the $$, they work great!!

Connectors rock. I did a post on them a while back with pics. Go ahead and regap your plugs to. I opened mine to .037 you may want to run .035.
