whipple 2.3 max boost

What do u guys think the best compression ratio is for a whipple supercharged 5.4 3v? And to how much boost can the whipple be pushed to? Im wanting to make the most power out of my 5.4 with the whipple.

With a question like that it sounds like you have money to burn. Grab the 3.3 and make it fit. I'd run 9.5 compression and some really good fuel.

the whipple can make over 20 PSI, but your stock block cant handle that. 8psi would be safe for a stock block.

Well i do have the stock block bored 30 over but when i built my engine i built it for nitrous and got 10-5-1 comoression i already have forged rods and carnk. im assuming i can lower the comoression with pistons and i should be able to crank up the boost right?

Yes lower compression like 9-9.5 with good gas. 8.5-9 with pump or so. Run the Whipple at 15psi with 3lb crank pulley and you'll make 600-700rwhp with good headwork and tuning

Constant 10s would require a very light truck with a hell of a launch. No one has this body style in the 10s as far as I know.

Cam wise I would look at what the mustang 4.6 3v guys are running with lots of boost. Same heads.

Tuner - JDM, Troyer, VMP, 5 Star (?)

Pistons I like Keith Black myself I'd get dish pistons of course to whatever compression you want.

Gears depending on size of the truck and size of the tires. 4.10s may be what you want in the long run.

9.5:1 is the preferred choice for blower motor's these days in the lightning crowd...

Consistant 10's in a 04 up will be a challange as IRONS1N said... would need the lightest 04+ possible, slicks, great weather, great track, and a solid 700+hp.

Thaks guys i know this trucks are very heavy, and i think the launch is one of the biggest factors good 60ft make a big difference. The best ive managed up to now is a 1.8 with flip kit a PI 3400 stall and hoosier slicks.maybe some cal tracs and the whipple will help me get some better 60s.

We are talking about 1/4 mile? You'd need at least 825 RWHP to get a 5,500 lb. vehicle into the 10s. If money were no object, I'd can the 3v idea and go for a built GT500 or Cobrajet engine and take the cam phasers out of the equation.

Wow 1000lb thats alot of weight,i already got rid of the cam phasers. Maybe mid 11s now is my goal lol i didnt think i would need over 800 rwhp. I ran a best of 12.8 @ 105 mph N/A and maybe with better weather and tune i could or ran mid to low 12s.i thought maybe with the whipple at high boost i could get in the 10 sec club.

What support mods did you do to your engine? Are you a regular cab? Only trucks I know that are in the 12's are blown and putting out over 450 to the tires.
