Okay, I will start off by saying that I dont know everything or even alot about lightning superchargers. BUT you will need alot more then just the blower to make it a kit. I would make sure that it spins freely and that there isnt any damage to the blower itself. Check for cracks and such I would say. I wouldn't pay much more than $200 for just the blower depending on what type it is of course. Also, you will need an adapter plate of sorts to put it on a 4.6 and it varies by year model just as would the 5.4 I'd assume. Says you have a 97 so I would think you would need atleast a newer intake plenum in order for it to work as well as injectors,MAF sensor..etc.

The Lightning intake manifold fits a 2V 5.4 with PI heads!

If you dont have a 99 to 03 5.4 the blower is no good to you.

Would it be possible to swap heads(PI for non) and then run the supercharger? I know that the difference in heads changes the compression and what not especially after being portmatched and all that. Would that be too much for the engine?

I know some one on here gave the site for the 5.4 intake to the 4.6 heads. I though it was better to have a lower compression rate for boost like 8 to 1 I have the non pi heads which I think is 9 to 1 and if I put the 5.4 pi heads on it it would make it 10 to 1 ? Correct me if my thinking is wrong. Phil could u explain to me why it wouldn't be worth it? Never really got the idea of boost untill now. Don't know much about it.

Not saying the blower is not an ok deal.
But if you have a 4.6 non PI motor. You would need to find, fab, custom make an adapter to go from the 5.4 PI intake manifold to you 4.6 non PI heads!
But the time you do all that (if ya can) it would be cheaper to drop a 5.4 in the truck and go from there.

Now,
I have been seeing a blower setup on ebay for a 4.6 that would work for ya but you would need to set up your air intake on the other side of your engine bay. Lot less work and it's a full kit that the guy has been trying to sell forever.
Maybe you could make him an offer on it. Because his price is kinda high!

NO ONE with any common sense would have posted the adapters for a 5.4 intake on a 4.6 block because it's not possible

now a 4.6 intake on a 5.4 block will work with the adapters

b2therad FYI HPS offers NPI to PI adapters for about $100
