Roush S/C Problem, no boost!
Roush S/C Problem, no boost!
I hope someone can shed some light on this story, but for some reason when I first get in my truck I can drive it and it makes full boost for the first few minutes. After that, I can put the pedal to the floor and it makes no boost at all?
If I turn the truck off, whatever it is, resets and it makes boost again.
It stands to reason that it is the boost bypass thing, but why is it dumping all my boost?

Not sure, but the boost by-pass is the most likely component causing your issue. I would check the electrical connection and make sure it's not loose. The by-pass operates off of an electrical signal from the IMRC. I turned my IMRC off in the SCT software once, and got no boost.

Some claim it works better this way, but I really find that hard to beleive.
The IMRC signal is based on load, so you have a table in the PCM strategy based on load and rpm when it will allow a vacuum signal. Roush has them set fairly high in their calibration. I'm assuming the by-pass module is a factory ford part used in the Lightnings. So beyond checking the vacuum lines and the electrical harness, it might be a bad component.

you might have a vacuum leak to your bypass valve, or the vacuum resivior may have a leak in it. you can bypass the set up by running vacuum right to the diaphram and see if you get boost.
What vacuum line do you use? Any vacuum line or a certain one?
take the vacuum line loose at the T and route it directly to the bypass valve. This will eliminate the bypass solenoid.
Open the Roush supercharger installation instruction and go to page 72. This is the vacuum line that attaches to the solenoid. Make sure it's plugged in on the passenger side. Now go to page 82 to see how the solenoid is routed. To by pass the solenoid you would take a line off the T at the plastic one-way valve and route it directly to the bypass valve (far left round cylinder in top picture). Leave the vacuum line connected to the vacuum tank.

Yes, I'd like to know too. I'm new to the forum and superchargers - how did you know you weren't getting any boost? I just bought a Nitemare and I know it has some issues, I just can't figure out exactly what they are.
