I would agree ONELOWF, but its not like I plan on racing this truck as it is my daily driver and it's only leaning out at the last 200 rpm before full throttle shift. Besides, I don't know who has a higher pressure fuel pump for this '09 yet.

Put in a bigger fuel pump, don't lower shift points.

The fact that you went lean that even if you lower shift points, a very very slight voltage hick up and you can go lean at lower RPMS's.

What is your exhaust setup? With a good free flowing dual exhaust(even using your sotck manifolds) and fuel pump, you can probably gain another 20-30hp and torque. Slap on a smaller pulley and get that boost coming in sooner and you will really love what your truck can do.

Either way get a bigger fuel pump.

This thread is givin me the itch for some boost.. That procharger setup is pretty nice looking and the numbers are real good for an 89 tune. Change out the Blow off valve and enjoy the sound when you let off the gas

Pretty sure where the maf sensor is placed before the blower inlet. If that's the case is has to stay a bypass valve.

400+ at the wheels with some bolt ons is pretty good and a huge improvement from stock! I may have to do it too - where you buy the kit from?

This is my first gas truck since 2000 (been playing with diesels), so I know very little about playing with these yet.

How about towing with the super charger, tuning, etc from this Pro Charger kit? Any issues, what do you need to watch out for?

Same thing as diesels, EGT and IAT....

I know of lots of guys that tow with their blown trucks.

I know of a few people that tow their race car on the stock long block 3v's that are doing 12-15psi.

If you talk to the guys at Whipple they will tell you that towing is what the supercharger is intended for.

and when you do what, you'l be switching to a blow thru MAF so you might as well add a waste gate and pulley it up a bit more

some are, some are not

but as stated previously and in many other threads, swithcing to a blow thru MAF, using a blow off valve VS a bypass valve, a waste gate and pullied for a lil' more boost yields better performance

look at onelowf's set up, his 4.6 represents well

I tow my son's race car to the track. I have 3 tunes. 94 octane, 91 octane and 91 octane tow. So far so good. Most of the time the engine is not in boost.

Fishnfool, I bought my Procharger set up through Byun Speed (www.byunspeed.com). My set up is a blow thru MAF because it is right before the throttle body. They use the stock MAF sensor and you mount it in the tube before is goes into the throttle body. You have to extend the sensor wires which they provide the needed length of wires. I had ATI lower the max rpm shift point to 5400 and now there is no "falling off" just before it shifts. They also changed up the fuel set up towards the end of the curve to prevent the lean condition. I might try to look for a higher pressure fuel pump, but for now I very happy with the way it runs. It now pulls strong all the way through the shift like it should be. Will try to get it back to the dyno another day soon to see how much it changed and hopefully will be able to find 91 octane before I get there.
