stonegreen 09, the tuner came set up with the transmission set points already put in. I guess ATI did this to keep from setting it up wrong and destroying the tranny and to give the best performance. The shift points are a good bit firmer. If I stand on the gas, it will chirp the tires in first and second but not in third because the traction control kicks back in at 70 mph rather than the 35 that it use to. And believe me, it gets to 70 mph pretty darn quick. Also there was no injector changes. The stock injectors are capable of what I needed. I don't plan to take it to the drag strip and race it. Maybe just shame some Camaros and some Mustangs around here!

Thanks for the reply on the trans questions. Sounds like it will be a fun ride to play with this summer! I wonder if they can up the traction control cut off higher than 70? What gears do you have in your truck?

I have the 3.15 that came with the XLT chrome package. Really needed something that got good highway mileage and now I've got power to tow a lot more also. He! He! This thing is a blast now to drive!

Good stuff......

Now get a smaller upper, bigger lower, and a waste gate. You will really love that blower then.

I don't know if I want to go more than the 9 psi for now. I would have to change injectors, head work and etc. Limited budget for now. I've got a girl fixing to start college next year and I hope I have enough saved for now. Anythings possible though! Just found a dyno near me so that's my next priority.

You could still run your 9PSI, it would just get you to 9psi in a hurry(maybe instantly like a roots), it will net you gobs more bottom end torque and hp.

Not sure about later models, but the traction control is not based on mph. There is a sensitivity setting in the PCM, so toning it down, or rather minimizing traction control is going to affect all speeds. There are dynos in Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. There may be some in north LA, but don't know where they might be.

What injectors are you running with this kit?

Very nice! The bonus to a Procharger over a twin screw, is that you don't make boost instantly, so pulling out from a stop in traffic with a 6000 lb truck, you can still maintain decent gas mileage. The Whipple I just installed is trying to make boost instantly with any kind of load, and is sucking the life out of my gas tank!

You will get used to it. When I went from my Vortech on 12lbs to my Saleen setup I said the same thing.

Now I can drive around without getting into boost.

I hope so. The hardest part is that it makes you WANT to hear the blower spin up.

I love the sound of a centrifugal though. Nothing beats the whistling even when you're sitting still.

Yeah, that's more of the reason you get into boost, because you want too

I do miss the whistle. As I have said before, I'll never do twinscrew/roots again.

Centri or Turbo.

FatherFord, I like your thinking! Maybe one day soon. I do like the in town drivability though. I'm not that much of a lead foot but it sure is nice knowing it is there when I want to play!

Windsor, I'm using the stock injectors. ATI says the stock ones on the '09 and '10's are large enough for up to 9 psi, but anything more than that I would have to upsize the injectors and possibly the fuel pump. I found a local dyno and tuner shop in Longview, TX which is only an 1 1/2 hours from me so I'm going to see if I can get on their schedule to do some pulls and see where the truck is at. It seems to be running fairly rich because it keeps popping the P050E code for cold exhaust temp which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Senior moment? Ha! Ha! I really intended for it to be an alternative to buying a Lightning truck since Ford is not going to make them anymore. So I guess call it "Lightning Alternative". I do have some other small projects to do to go with this upgrade such as suspension upgrades, wheels, and etc. so it will be an ongoing project on a budget, of course! Most bang for the buck in otherwords.

I've been to that site before a few years back when they were first discussing trying out turbos. Man, how time flies. I think it was when I was looking at got-pressure.com and found the link. Those guys are insane in what they can do.
