dumb question?

i have heard of people taking chargers off of other cars and trucks (i know the lightning and harley truck) that are stock with boost and mocking them up to their trucks. is this possible and if so which ones? and what all would u need to take along with it?

i have a 97 f-150 4x4 4.6

The Lightning/Harley blowers fit on the 99 to 03 2V 5.4
All you need is to drop a 5.4 in your truck, then bolt the charger on.

Buy the time you pay for custom manifold adapters to go from non PI 4.6 to PI 5.4 intake manifold. You could just buy a hole L motor and put it in.

Here's one that should fit your 4.6
All you would need to do is reroute the air intake.

Yeah,I keep forgetting about that set up.
There is 4.6 kits out there.
He could also look into Procharger,Paxton,Vortech, or a turbo setup.

cookie cutter hot rodding keeps getting easier; HPS offers NPI to PI adapters for around $95 they are 3/16th of an inch thick...
