No, not yet. That will probably be my next step after a re-tune. I got that nub of aluminum grounded down, hooked everything up and she is running fine now. I went for a test drive on wet roads, got about 3/4 throttle and hit 13 pounds, stopped at that point as I was pretty much sideways by then. It looks like I have to change out uppers sooner than I thought, I have a 2.8'" upper on there now, stock is 3.0", but I want to see what she does before the upper swap, just have to wait for a dry road, probably a 3.2 or higher upper I am thinking to get abut 12 pounds. I did hit 13 pounds with no problem and had plenty to spare, got to 11 pound real quick, quicker than I had thought. I need some better tires, mine are only a year old and not much wear on them but just after I did the efans they want to break free during the 2nd to 3rd shifts wet or dry, where as before I could only get em to break free on wet surfaces.

Don't be afraid of more then 12....

As long as the tune is good, 15-16 is fine.

Batn86, who will be doing your tune? Man that port on your blower must be accounting for the higher boost. I have the larger crank too with a 2.8 and see 9.5lbs..

I am going to use the shop about 45 minutes from here, fastlane motor sports, this is where I had my last dyno run a few months back. I believe my pulley is at 15% over while the one you have is at 10% over plus maybe the porting assisted some in the boost differences. I am going to attempt a video of a run, just have to figure out how to strap the camera to the center armrest to film the boost gauge, I know if I just hold it in my hand it will be jerky.

Let me know how fastlane tunes your truck....

I know they build some fast cars, but I have seen way to many of their cars with blown up engines...not to mention their pricing is retarded there.

I'm also curious, has anyone attempted an 8 rib setup?

I know all the older F-150's/exped's had an 8 rib pulleys.... I would personally love to go to an 8 rib setup along with this pulley. 14-15lbs of boost and no belt slip..... Sounds sexy.

I need to get some headers..

I am looking into it, also found belts in the 8 rib setup that I would need, the magna original is a 6 rib 126.5 inch they had special made from gates, and the only belt I could get was thru magnuson that I could find, I see a goodyear gatorback in the 8 rib and in my length...which is nice. I did have belt squeak when I would let off the pedal since day one of the blower install but that is gone now with the meziere electric water pump (so far), we will see how long it will last. Do you think the 8 rib pulleys would be a direct/easy swap of the 6 ribbed version?

Update on the total boost, seems when I would break the tires free and spin them my boost would actually go to 13-14 psi, but now on near same temp and dry roads no tire spin I am getting a constant 12 psi. I noticed this a few months back when I put on the other overdriven crank and nearly lost the truck, I broke the tires loose and got an extra 2-3 pounds out of it. Whats the cause of this? less resistance due to the free spinning of the tires or something.

I'm confused... So you are seeing more boost when spinning? Are you sure you just aren't going to a higher rpm quickly before the truck can shift?

FF I found this 8 rib setup for the 3v mustangs with a s/c don't know if they can be adapted to the truck engine tho

pretty sure someone can put together a much much cheaper setup together finding factory pulleys in the junk yard.

The only big cost is the crank pulley, and the blower pulley.

I'll have to space out my alternator bracket on the Saleen setup as the blower sits backwards on it.

I'm thinking I better get headers for the truck first before I increase boost. Even shortys would probably help out.

I definitely saw an increase in boost when they spun freely and this is when it would shift as I was cruising around 20-25 mph and hit it, it drops down a gear and it winds up and I shift and that's when tires break free, if i am stopped and hit it I get some terrible wheel hop, I have to roll it, so I cannot tell you how it is from a dead stop. I did a WOT run from work this morning, this time on dry road and only hit 12 psi, ran thru a puddle with a nice amount of wet road after it and did another run, it went to 13.5 easy when the tires broke free before I let off. I am running a digital gauge and it showed when I looked at it 13.5 as I was spinning the tires and probably getting some worried looks from oncoming traffic.

They did have at the time I bought it the lowest price for the meziere electric water pump with the 30 amp relay..just in case anyone is looking.

I think it's because the engine is spinning up much quicker, allowing the the boost to build up better.

So you went from 8psi stock to 12psi with this pulley?
