Right amount of boost?

So im doing a lightning supercharger conversion on my 2000 expedition and the kit im buying for it puts the boost from the charger at 12 psi. I was planning on running around 10#'s as i dont want to damage any of my engines internals, but i would rather be able to run 12 safely and not spend the money and have to go through the hassle of buying a lower psi crank to drop it to 10 psi. I wont be racing the expedition, it will mainly be a daily driver and used for a little bit of off-roading. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Yes i do have the harley kit (sorry for leaving that out). So that means i would need to get a 4 lb lower to make 10#'s of boost right? So i could go that route which would be safer but more expensive, so i want to know if it would be safe to run 12 lbs in my stock expedition?

A ("GOOD SAFE") tune is most important to prolong the life of your stock block!!!
Whether your running 6#s or 10#s of boost.
I wouldn't even start installing it until you have found a good reputable custom or mail-order tuner.
Talk to Mike, hes in CA and should be able to recommend someone that has done the L swap tuning many times out there.

Yea now i am going to go with 10 lbs and i think im going to go with the SCT Xcalibrator and custom tune from Troyer. The guys Mike from Mad Enterprise reccommended me too (Running with the Devil Performance) have been non responsive to me email and inquiries. Any good reccomendations other than those two for an affordable price?

Troyer is very good.
If your going with him get your order in right away. You may have a little wait du to him being busy.
Did you try calling the place that Mike recommended?

I do not believe that MAD tunes himself, last i remeber he got Sal from PSP to do. And Sal I believe is out of business.

I used Sal first then made a change to combo and went with a local guy, Woodbine Motorsports.

He raced his L on Pinks All Out Last year and made final 16.

Make sure when you say +4 that they are referencing HD vice L. 7.5 inch is stock lower, with the HD that makes 6 with the L that makes 8, 2 lb difference. They try to confuse you when you go aftermarket. I think +4 for HD is 8.5 or inches. With a stock upper HD (~3.1in) that would be 10lbs.
