It was a steady climb all the way up to the 15 to 16 range at the top end. Not good...............get to a dyno asap after your tune. I would have never thought I was running that lean. The first pull was less than 300 RWHP. After adding fuel we gained 60+ RWHP.

how did you add fuel? did you do it via the sct tuner using the options it offers?

yea that is way to lean, does he know about this? I am not sure how you can over look that and become that learn...

Yes.........we were able to add up to 14% more fuel with the SCT tuner. It would have been nice if they would have just left that option open so we could adjust the fuel as much as needed.
We were on the phone with Mike Troyer after just about every dyno run letting him know what the numbers looked like.

So what was your final a/f when you left the dyno? Was Mike the one that said he thought you can make it to 380rwhp? , 91

Just a little curious, i am on the stock magnacharger tune, Shorties, full cat back and 91 octane, however my truck is on 35's/20's and i put down 350/390. I think your tq figures are awesome, would just like to see that HP go up...

The A/F was still running in the 13 to 14 range up top. My installer, who is also a tuner said we should be able to get 380 rwhp and close to 500 torque. Of course he is a GTO & Vet tuner, so you can take that comment with a grain of salt. The main factor may end up being the fuel system supporting that much hp.

Mike recommends replacing the fuel filter everyother oil change on these supercharged trucks. If you haven't changed your filter lately, you might want to consider it. What kind of dyyno are you using? My first runs were on a Mustang dyno and they gave some higher numbers. We are now using a new DynoJet dyno that my shop installed a few weeks ago. I have a little more confidence in these new numbers.

I bet you numbers will improve when you get a decent tune in your truck. Mike should have all the bugs worked out on the Magnacharger tune after he gets mine dialed in.

Mine were on a Dynjet too... Did mike fix any of the trans issue that are in the Stock Magna tune, the bucking sensation the TQ converter makes at high speeds when you left off an push on the throttle? What about WOT shift points?

He did work on the trans issues. The bucking sensation you are feeling is "torque management" that is part of the program. When you hammer down on the throttle when in OD, your trans downshifts from 4 to 2. There is a 2 to 3 second delay programmed into the tune that limits the amount of hp/torque the engine can deliver. Say only 60% for that 2 to 3 second period and then you get 100%. This is to keep you from destroying your transmission with all the extra hp and torque. He recommended to turn the OD off when you know you are going to be pushing on the throttle hard, such as entering the interstate from an on-ramp or city driving where you might need to hammer down on the truck for some reason. Try turning OD off and see what the difference is.
Be sure and give Mike a call and discuss your issues. He is very sharp on F150 tunes, but I don't think he has done a lot of Magnacharger tunes yet. Hopefully he has learned something while working on mine.

when is the next time you will be on a dyno, so we can see some better figures after the lean issue is adjusted.

Hopefully one day next week. The shop that installed my Magnacharger is the one doing the dyno runs for me. He was having some computer issues and had to get the bugs worked out before he could send Mike the datalog information. When he gets that fixed, he is going to give me a call to schedule another dyno session.
I just hope we can get it lined out without having to upgrade the fuel system. This whole deal is getting expensive. But...........I guess you got to pay to play!

The only graph I got doesn't show the A/F. I am calling Troyer tomorrow to discuss things. So far I have only gotten 1 tune from him. All these shops are so busy that you get lost in the shuffle and forgotten! It pretty much sucks trying to get this done from halfway across the country. I hope yours goes better than mine has so far.

Plans are to get back on the dyno next Wednesday. I have a call into Troyer Performance for Mike to give me a call to be sure he will be available next week. We will do the data logging and send the data to Mike for his final adjustments on the tune. Then......hopoefully I will get all three tunes downloaded to my handheld and be good to go. Hopefully we will get close to the 380/500 mark when it's all said and done.
The truck is running great, I just want to get this tuning issues done and over with. My fishing season starts in a few weeks and I will be on the road a lot pulling my bass boat.
I would like the truck tuned as good as it can be before I hit the road.
More later.................

I doubt you will see 500 RWTQ, and i doubt that is safe for daily use.

but i do hope to see that HP to increase!! Keep me posted, also post up a dyno graph!!
