New Bypass valve

I just ordered a new valve off e-bay for my set up. One of those Bosch things. $80.00 to my door.

Let us know your results, I have been wanting to do this since the stock bypas is crap. Do you need a retune when switching outdue to boost coming on sooner?

You raise a good point. I don't think you should need a retune but I will check with my tuner. The way I see it; To make boost you need to flow more air. The increase in boost should be seen by the MAF as an increase in airflow over the sensor. I have a 12psi tune so that should take care of it. I till post what my tuner says.

I purchased this one. I cannot guarantee that it will work but am hoping that it will for mine.

I recently visited Prochargers website actually and they have two different valves on the site that they sell now. Has anyone tried one of those with the Procharger setup?

I would say no unless the valve was leaking a lot, where as you were losing pounds of boost. The maf meaures the air volume coming through and adds more fuel to increased air volume to keep the a/f ratio correct. On the other hand, the closed loop transition could be late.

JMC will get an expert opinion from Mike I'm sure.

I received it in the mail today. The inlet/outlet diameter is too small. When open it will not flow enough air and it causes compressor surge.

That is my main worry and part of the reason I have yet to order a new valve. I am worried the intlet and outlet will not match the existing procharger hose diameter. Anyone know of bypasses that match the stock hose diameter?

The Procharger unit is 1½ inches. The Bosch unit that Procharger sells is 1¼ inches. So either buy their Bosch unit or find one in the aftermarket.
