which one ?
which one ?
ok i have an 05 supercrew 4x4 with the 5.4 3v and im going to supercharge it the problem is i cant figure out which one to get i like the whipple with the air to water intercooler and it seems to put down real good numbers but procharger has one that comes with injectors and everything it seems pretty good too and then theres the roush but the thing is im tryin to figure out whats puttin down the most power im also installing long tube headers and high flow cats
Well I'm very pleased with my roush kit. The roush kit is intercooled and does come with larger injectors as well. The driveabiltiy on the roush tune is very good. It is pretty conservative as far as power goes, but you do get a killer warranty. If you are still under your 3 year 36k mile warranty it will not be voided. The kits build quality was awesome, kit looks like it's supposed to be there not added. Oh wait did I mention you also get that awesome sound of a Eaton blower
Just my .02cents

yea you cant beat the warranty and this truck will be driven pretty often im pretty sure that they only warrranty it if the dealer installs it correct if so do you have any idea what it costs for them to do it see iwas planning on doing it myself but if they do it pretty cheap and they warranty it it would deffinetly be worth it
the prochargers are good superchargers but i believe that the whipple or roush are better suited for trucks. the roush is a very well put together kit, and the warranty is a definate plus. i have 50,000 hard miles on my non i/c roush and have had no problems with the roush components. the whipple, from what i hear, is also well designed, but from what i hear has a greater power potential than the roush.
so in my opinion, the roush may be the best kit if you are keeping the truck basically stock after the s/c. if you ever plan to have a built motor and make 500+ rwhp then the whipple may be a better choice.

yea it will probably end up getting built up pretty good eventually so i guess the whipple would be better thats the one i was pretty much leaning towards it seems to put down the most power and is able to handle quite a bit does anybody know if anybody makes aftermarket heads for the 5.4l 3valve i was just curious thinkin about getting a set prolly around the same time
Ford Racing sells 3v heads that claim 20% better intake flow, and 30% better exhaust flow.

I bought my Roush kit used from a fellow member on here because he wanted to swap to the Ford Racing Whipple SC. He did this because of all the hype around the whipple making more HP/TQ. Well after I installed the Roush I talked to him and he really wishes he stayed with the Roush kit. Yes the whipple will make more power but you will have to get the upgrade kit and custom tuning to get past the speed limiter to make it. The Roush kit with a steigmeir port job on a built motor will make upto around 650RWHP. The big plus about the Roush setup is that it runs a seprate belt for the SC unlike the whipple which uses the same drive belt, if for any reason the whipple rotors locked up you would loose your main drive belt and would require a tow. Just do some research and you will make the best decision for your application.
Thanks Huitt24.
I was waiting for someone to mention the different belt systems of the Roush and the Whipple.
The Roush with it's own pulley system is easier to upgrade to make more boost and power. With just a simple pulley swap!
In order to make over 10 PSI with the Whipple,,,you'll need a custom built setup or the Roush pulley system for a separate belt. Plus a custom extension on the blower pulley to extend it out.
So your talking more money to run big power from the Whipple and just a pulley swap for the Roush.
In my opinion,,,(If I had a newer truck ) I would go with the Roush blower set up and it's warranty!

yea they both seeem to have there good points as well as bad ones but im pretty sure the roush is not intercooled correct and thats what is steering me away from it the most and i also heard you cant use it in four wheel drive and the speed limiteris set at like 99 mph yea the separate belt is nice but is it that nice lol for that is the question but i thank you all for the info
and really my goal here is to be able to beat my buddys 95 mustang gt i just want something that will put down big numbers and LAST a long time so more opinions a replys are great it really helps thanks again

The Whipple flows more and is rated higher at 2.3L. The Roush is 1.8L. However, upgrading the Roush is far cheaper and the results compared to an upgraded Whipple are pretty close. I was all but sold on the Whipple until I started seeing the results of the +2 lb upgraded Roush kit. Then I went with Roush.

You certainly can use it in 4X4 and the newer Roush kits are inter-cooled.
You should have no problem whipping up on a 95 Stang!!! With ether kit.
Oh,,,and with custom tuning you can get around the 99 limiter!
But you should wait till the warranty is over,, then do that. If your worried about the warranty...

well i think im starting to definetly lean towards the roush kit it is cheaper and seams like everyone realy likes it but im still wonderin if the dealer has to install it to get the warranty and about how much does it cost also where is a good place to get custom tuning like from a programmer or like a shop but thanks for all the help again
