Can my truck handle a turbo?

Hey, Im looking to put an sts turbo system on my truck within the next month or so but will my truck hold up to the extra power? I have a 99 F150 with a 5.4 l. Its the stock motor and transmission. Its got 35's and 4.10 gears. Will the stock rods etc and tranny hold up? thanks

depends on how much boost, how hard you drive it, whether it's intercooled, what supporting mods you add and how it's tuned.

I recomend a pro-M blow thru MAF, 42# injectors, 255lph in tank fuel pump, a good tune and an intercooler.

The most that people say you put on a stock motor is 8PSI if you go 10PSI or higher you will deff have some probs. But 8PSI is what is normally said that a Stock engine can handle before and big changes are needed. You will deff need a custom tune if you do add a power adder such as a turbo or Supercharger so your computer knows what to do with the extra air.

Depends on the boost level and the tune for it.

how many miles are on it?

tarajerame is right though

blow thru maf, 42lb injectors 255 fuelpump.

ive got a remote mount on my v6 f150, as long as the turbo is sized properly u wont have any lag or anything.

4 10's might be a little big. i have 3 55's for a supercharged or turbocharged application lots of people run 3 55's to 373's i dunno about bigger tahn that.

I Have 4.10's... but with my tire size, that puts me right at factory ratio.

Thanks for all the help guys, The trucks got 90K on it and I think the kit comes with the injectors and and going to them to have it done so they are goin to tune it while im there. Im only planning on running 7-8 #'s of boost on it cause it'll be driven pretty regularly. Hey built54, did you do your custom dash pieces yourself? looks awesome and would like to do something like that to my ride.

you'll want to consider a shift kit asap, either a transgo or a factory tech people seem to like both and they help the tranny last a bit longer
