The only mod I had done was a Plasma Booster recommended by Troyer. I did not install Troyer's tune because I was happy with the performance of the truck when I got it back from having the supercharger installed and I don't race the truck or drive it hard.
The mechanic who has the truck now tells me that he is bringing the truck to a tuner tomorrow because he does not believe that there is a Roush tune on it, and he thinks Lincoln did in fact erase my Roush tune. I told him to not add a tune, and to stop everything if the Roush tune is not there. If it's not, Lincoln is going to have a big problem on there hands.
More to follow soon.
I see Matt had a problem as well, did Roush cover it for him?

The tuner did not show up at the mechanics shop. I'm looking at tomorrow now. Worse case, I'll go Saturday and try to read with my computer like you guys suggested.

I hate to say it but you can't hold Roush to blame. I would have never taken my truck to a dealership especially one that isn't a Roush dealer. I do know roush CS does kinda suck but I would go after the Lincoln dealer. You gave Roush an out when you had the booster put on even if it is their fault but I really doubt it. Roush's tune is a good tune. Did you have any guages on your truck?

That's some **** luck man. Computers aren't that hard to use, you would think they would have a capable staff working there. Any update on whether or not the tune was in fact overwritten?

If the dealership mistakenly returned the PCM back to "stock", then it's their fault.

The Linoln dealer's sister Ford dealer is a Roush Dealer, and the Roush dealer that sold me the Roush charger told me to add the Plasma Booster, that it would not void my warranty, and that I actually needed it because of the high humidity in my area. I went to Ford and they sent me to Lincoln. Whether it's Lincoln's fault or not, Roush has the warranty. At the least they should have covered it and went after Lincoln themselves. There are Roush dealers out there right now that offer their own tunes with the Roush kit, and guess what? According to Roush, that's voiding your warranty. Roush claims to have no control over what their dealers say or do, that's total b.s. and the law agrees.
I'm more upset with Roush telling me that they did not care what the problem was or what caused it, that they were not covering the damage and that was it, period.

Alright guys. Let me start out by telling you a brief bit about myself. I used to be a mechanic for Ford. I was ASE certified, but before I could get my Master certifications I decided to quit wrenching(3 months ago) for it was not the career for me, more or less a hobby. I worked at, Kelly Ford in Melbourne, FL. At Kelly, I have had the experience to install a Roush supercharger on a 5.4L King Rancher. Not a bad install. The guy that owned the truck, some engineer, also installed high flow cats, long tube headers, high flow intake, Borla catback exhaust, and instead of having his PCM flashed by Ford, or sent out to Roush, he went to a local speed shop and had it dyno tuned. This was in 2006 and I continued to maintain his truck until I left the dealership. He had no problems...the truck was beautiful, was very fast on 20" rims 36" tires, not to mention it's boner popping tone. My guess with your truck, "Roush LT", is that it was not caused by a rich mixture. That would actually cause you truck's combustion chamber to be quenched and run cooler, thus sacrificing about 10-15% of your power. Without the proper tune, probably because Lincoln deleted the Roush tune, it sounds as if your truck went lean. Your stock tune was not providing your supercharged engine with a sufficient amount of fuel. It should be around 13.1:1(performance) or 14.7:1(economy). This lean mixture increased Knox and Hydrocarbons to such a degree, that your catalytic converter probably was overwhelmed, and thus melted. This "clog" caused an enormous amount of back-pressure, and well, it's only as strong as the weakest link. If you had stock exhaust or small 2.5" exhaust pipes, that probably didn't help either. That's what I think happened. Tell that to your lawyer and mechanic, and see what they say. It's Lincoln's fault in my eyes. I hope what I have said helped. If you decide to get your motor replaced, I recommend what the engineer did. Also, I would invest in a boost gauge, A/F gauge, exhaust temp. gauge, and maybe even a tranny temp. gauge with cooler. These things will at least warn you before a problem, so your wife doesn't have to see that disappointing look on your face as well hers when she sees what a new setup is going to cost . Have a good one, and good luck.

On a side note, what are you doing with the blown engine assembly?

I have to return it as a core or come up with 350.00. If anyone wants it for the 350.00, let me know quick.

Is it still a complete assembly or only a longblock? Where are you getting your new engine from?

Thanks!
