Both cats clogged? Sounds like a real conservitive tune was ran and the truck running so rich clogged the cats?

BS that the plasma booster caused the blow up. Roush will point the finger at that though just to get out of this. They can get away with with so ofcourse that's what they are going to do.

As far as the 2004's being "weaker"... No sorry. They can hold the power just like the 2v 5.4's can. I have been running 12lbs 450rwhp now for quite some time and over 30k miles with the blower(over 60k miles total now). It's all about the tune.

Luckily I've got free attorney representation at work, so Roush is getting a certified present next week. I agree that Lincoln should not have touched the truck. I asked them to call Roush before they did anything, or to ship the truck to their Roush dealer up the street on Monday if they could not handle the job. Their sister dealership is a Roush dealership and told me they did not know how to read the PCM either. I told them I found it very hard to believe that they sell Roush F150s and Stangs and have never had to read a PCM, but they insist they have not (B.S., I'm sure).
Ironically the Ford/Lincoln dealer around the corner from my house used to be a Roush dealer, until according to their service manager they dropped Roush for, guess what? Failing to honor warranty claims.
He told me they were tired of turning customers away with no warranty coverage and problems with vehicles that were still under 3 yrs/36,000. Apparently, few realize that Roush takes over the stock warranty and re-imburses the Ford dealers for repairs. But you no longer have a Ford warranty on your powertrain (Lincoln even tried to tell me that my AC was not covered under factory warranty anymore because of the strain on the compressor).
I also agree that the Plasma Booster did not affect the engine (and so did one of Roush's engineers, but he said he could not influence the warranty dept.s decision).

Why would there be a strain on it, the Roush S/C has a dedicated belt and does not effect the A/C compressor...

I know. Another example of people trying to get out of work using the warranty excuse. I'm waiting to talk to Mike Troyer now to see how to read the computer, he's at SEMA until Tuesday.

This is one reason I bought an aftermarket warrenty that specifically covers my S/C and power train for 100,000 mi. Roush customer service is a joke. I'm still waiting on my PCM to come back so I can finish my S/C install

I'm losing faith in warranty b.s., they tried telling me when my rear end went out in my 99' F150 that the oil was low in the rear end. An adjuster from the aftermarket warranty co. came out and watched them drain the oil. They told me it was not covered and that it was my fault and he told me how many quarts it was low. I called the service dept. and asked the mechanic if they measured the oil and he told me no, they cracked the cover and let it drain straight into a mobile 55 gl drum.
I had to get an attorney after them on that one, but they told me they replaced everything in the rear end and they covered it. Afew weeks later, the rear end started making noise. When I brought it back, they said the clutches went bad. I asked how they could go out so quick, and they told me they replaced everything in the rear end except the clutches, and that would be another 1800.00 to repair and the warranty people again denied the claim. I lost the truck during Katrina before that one could be resolved.
Bottom line, I'm beginning to believe that these companies will deny claims and find some reason it's your fault for anything possible.
If people are having problems like this with Roush, why is everyone so hell bent on dealing with them and not Ford Racing?
I just read that Ford will be offereing a Saleen charger as an option on their Harleys, hope so, maybe Saleen can get it right in the customer service department. It seems like Roush is just looking to make a fast buck from the consumer, then moving on to the next sucker.

From being in the auto parts business I have found that most companys will scrutinize warranty claims because they are banking on that most will not bother to follow through.

I have been happy with my Roush product because of the engineering that they have done to make it work, IE( seperate FEAD system to run the SC, use of Ford parts from the lightning). How ever there customer service is not the best I have dealt with, it was like pulling teeth to get a couple of replacement parts that I was missing because I purchased my kit used. Never the less I did recieve the parts. When I sent my PCM to be flashed I had on the PCM my address to mail it back to and paid for next day service. Two days later I did not receive the PCM called them and found out they sent it back to Pak Mail were I had shipped it off from, needless to say it sat with them for a day.

I hope that you can get some kind of support for this issue. Also to read your strategy you plug the Excal into your OBDII port and scroll down to the 4th option I believe which will allow you to read the strategy. If the Roush tune is installed it will comeback with an error, if a stock tune is installed then a strategy code will be displayed. Call Troyer Performance and speak to Neil he should be able to help you out.

What happened to Matt 05'FX4's engine? I hadn't heard of that one. I am very interested in these threads, as a supercharger MAY be just around the corner for me, uh or NOT.

Matt05'FX4 had an injector fail (stuck open) before adding the supercharger which led to a piston failing after the supercharger was added.

'06 Lincoln with Roush Intercooled. Trucks at around 28000 Miles, 12000 or so with the supercharger. No problems yet. Haven't done the Troyer tune yet though. What were your mods/tune before you blew up?
