ATI Procharger belt issues-F150, 5.4l engine

Hi all,
I have been having issues with belt comming off, breaking, etc. I tryed different tension levels on the belt, no change. Anyone, any ideas?
Any input is much appreciated. Thanks.

If the belt is coming off you need to shim the mounting bracket. If the belt is breaking then try another brand of belt. I've pretty much found that is order to get a 12# pulley not to slip requires enough tension that makes belt life relatively short. I'm using Dayco Poly-cogs now and they seem to hold up well. I'm seriously going to start looking into making an 8-rib setup though if a RR pulley doesn't help.

The 3 bolts that hold the blower bracket to the block are the ones you need to shim. Generaly one washer on each bolt will do it but when I got my gatorback belt on I also needed to put one more shim on the very bottom bolt to get the pullies lined up. No more problems with the belt wanting to walk off the pullies.

Make sure that the spacers in between the bracket and motor are the same length. I have not had a bit of trouble out of my belt and I don't have the first shim.

There's always going to be tolerance stacking issues with stuff like this. Some need no shims, some need several. I only needed one washer in the lower bolt spacer to get mine to track correctly. If the belt is coming off the front of the pulley then he might need to shim the same way. If it is coming off the back of the pulley then put a washer in the top spacer.

Thanks a million for the inputs. It seems logical with the shimming. Mine seems to walk off in front about 1.4" then stays there but it damages the belt. I will try different shimming scenarios to line it up.
Best Regards,

I shimmed my pullies to fix it on my truck.

Never thought about shimming the mounting plate.
