Screwed by Roush with their Supercharger
Screwed by Roush with their Supercharger
I have a 06 Lincoln Mark Lt, and in the end of march, I put the non intercooled supercharger on her. About two weeks later their Intercooled version came out with a price tag of 5,900 dollars aprox 700 dollars more than the non intercooleded kit. So I called them thinking I could get the intercooling conversion for the difference of the two kits. They told me the conversion kit would be 2,700!! I am irrate at them now because had they told me that a intercooled version was about to come out in less than a month I would have waited to purchase that one. This thread simply serves as a warning to all of those who are thinking about buying a supercharger without the intercooler, thinking they can upgrade for 700 later. YOU CANNOT DO IT. So now I dont think I will ever purchase another Roush product, because I sort of feel decieved by them. Sorry, to those who dont care, I just had to vent. Donny
youch i hate that when it happens to me... you think your gettin something great... then you turn around and its been updated..... and it will cost more to get the update than starting from scratch!

I agree that it is a little pricey, but you get more than just the intercooler and some plumbing with it....

I am very aware of what the kit consists of, and I understand that the upgrade is probably worth the 2700 in parts. My problem is that not more than two weeks after i purcashed the kit through Roush, they comeout with a better kit. That I now have to pay 2700 for, instead of 700 if I would have waited two weeks.

That is a great idea! I would be willing to pay around a grand for this, but they will not budge.

Anyway, I think the real issue is, with the intercooled kit costing only $700 more who wouldn't pay the extra $$$ for the intercooler?!?! I expect Roush isn't taking cores back because they realize there is almost no market for a non-intercooled unit when a intercooled unit is available. Now the real question is, did they understand this market trend when they sold the unit to Quik LT?
They are in business to make money after all, and new parts on the shelves don't generate revenue either.
Yeah when I got my Roush Supercharger installed they asked if I wanted the intercooled version for a few hundred more. I am happy I did. Anyway I would not say Roush deceived you but you were just too quick on the draw. Like someone buying an explorer with the 4.6 engine last year with 220hp and this year the 3v engine puts out like 293 hp. crap happens
When ford releases thier 5.6 v8 putting 360+ hp I will be mad I had to get a supercharger put in my truck to get that kind of power.

Supercharger I/C
I agree,
Roush should definitely cut some slack to non I/C owners for a upgrade kit.
1.We already own a non intercooled roushcharger.
2.We already demonstrated Roush brand ownership with our selection.
3.Noone will offer a trade in advantage.
Give us a break!!
Me Personally I have approx. 15,000 invested in Roush upgrades.
Im not looking for special favors, but please I have already stated my Roush brand loyality, don't charge me almost 3k for a intercooler upgrade kit.
