Non-intercooled Eaton and Kenne Bell owners

I would like to know discharge temps for those of you running non-intercooled Eaton or Kenne Bell superchargers. Please include the ambient temp as well. I'm curious since I just datalogged my '03 F150 with a Kenne Bell and my discharge temp was around 205 degrees at peak boost. Ambient was 70 degrees. This was running the pulley that came with the kit and seeing around 8 psi at 5400 rpm.

WOW!!!

My Whipple at 14 psi showed an IAT-2 temp of 104* at WOT with an ambient of 76*.

I dont have any #s but I had a K/B kit on my truck and the temps were high.
Try adding a water/meth kit to the mix.Helped me out alot.

I'm definately considering water/methanol injection. What is the best kit available now? I have read about the Snow Performance kits and was leaning toward their MAF controlled kit.

has anyone tried adding a inner cooler (like the procharger 3 core air to air) prior to the air entering the inlet of the non-inner cooled roots type??? I was just wondering if this was just a dumb idea i had or if it would be worth the custom plumbing of the air intake pipes??? just another idea

Won't work. With the top mounted P/D blowers, the compressed air from the blower goes directly into the intercooler which is between the blower and the intake manifold, and uses a heat exchanger to disapate the heat which is mounted behind the front air dam. I believe only cents can use the air-to-air I/Cs cause the discharged air from the blower goes to the intercooler mounted behind the air dam and then into the thottle body. The air-to-air I/C must be mounted there in order to use the air flow to cool the hotter compressed air.

I'm running a Kenne Bell 10 PSI boost and have never seen the charge temp over 160 degrees with 80+ degree ambient temperature. Where is your IAT sensor located that's measuring 205 degrees? Mine is located below the compressor; I drilled a hole that matched the O.D. of the IAT sensor.

I use a homemade Water/Alcohol injection system that works great. If you are looking for the best system on the market, use:

My IAT is located on the discharge plate beneath the blower.

Brucescrew,

Were those discharge temps you quoted with or without the water/meth injection? Do you spray the water/meth before the supercharger or after? I have read some debates on spraying before the supercharger because some say it will harm the rotors. Also, do you spray before the IAT and, if so, any problems with the sensor?

I spray before the throttle body. I don't have any problems with the KB rotors; I've got over 80K miles on the KB and still maintain a solid 10 PSI Boost.

BruceScrew,

Thanks for the reply, I guess I will be buying a water/meth kit now.
