i'm never adding forced induction. i am all motor to 500+ fwhp. i know for a fact the stockers are good to around 370-390 rw, but that's with 11.4:1 and i'm going 10:1.

Your loss, best bang for the buck next to Nitrous and much better drivabilty than a all motor high HP power plant.

How do you figure 500 fwhp?

What is good for 370-390 rwhp stock?? Manifolds? I think you are underestimating them, atleast with FI. There are several L guys running big numbers on stock exhaust manifolds.

i'm not into debating personal choices. i like all motor power. i can always add N2o or anything else. i takes a good bit of design skill to daily drive 525hp N/A. 390rwhp is N/A for the manifolds. i'm losing the 3v heads soon. they present too large of a loss for me to reach the daily driver 500+hp. we all see things differently. all motor is old school. it's more difficult and is more satisfying. look at the cobra 'r'. all motor. very cool. not as fast as a terminator, but more cool none the less. i like to think i'm building my own version of it. under a stock hood none the less.

Yes it would, I know my wife would not be crazy about taking a 525 fwhp DD to and from work but the L isn't even a question.

I seriously doubt 390rwhp is the limit of the stock manifolds. There are a number of things that could be improved before the manifolds and would prove much higher numbers before they are "restrictive" to a limiting sense.

Losing the 3V heads? And going with what? What are you "loosing" with them? They flow much better than 2V heads and require only a little more power to function. The 4V would be nice but you must spin 2 extra cams and an equal number of valves/springs.

For a cool factor sure! I'm not knocking you for that. I'll be rewarding but don't think that FI is "over rated"!

And best of luck in your buildup.

I think you have your trucks a little mixed up here. I have never bought a thing from JDM.

Assasinator,

It would be tough enough to build a 500hp N/A motor from a 7+L motor that would pass California emissions, virtually impossible starting with a 5.4L. Remember, we cannot use Long Tubes as they won't even pass the visual part of our smog inspection.

However, with a little forced industion, cams that keep emissions in check, stock exhaust manifolds (somewhat madified) and at least the visual appearance of a full battery of cats, my truck is now right at 600/700, CA smog compliant, I consider that a fair accomplishment.
