I think straight pipes with no mufflers or X pipe is going to get annoying real quick. You wouldn't give up much if any hp.
Brahmus, what i'm trying to accomplish here is to compensate the smaller diameter of my headers, 1 5/8" against 1 3/4" which was suggested by Jim JDM, Assassinator and VT Engines, they said i must have at least 1 3/4" size headers for that kind of power 600RWHP+. That's why i am not using any kind of mufflers on this system trying to lower the back pressure as much as possible.
I know will be crazy loud but what can i do ? I found some Race Series Magnaflow mufflers on their website and they say it won't hurt performance. Do you think i can use them to lower the noise and still don't raise the back pressure ?

I think you need to pick up a few books on exhaust system design. You are trying to build a system based on some common misconceptions. I got a Mustang in my driveway making 680 rwhp with 1 5/8 shorty headers, high-flow cats, and magnaflow mufflers. You ever notice how 1200+ hp drag radial cars still have mufflers? They make MORE power with them. You need to figure out the terminal CFM you need to flow and find mufflers that allow for that mass flow. Exhaust flow is not laminar, there is more to it than backpressure.

Unfortunately i don't have those books justjames80. What do you suggest in my case then ? X pipe + mufflers ? If so, what kind of mufflers, the Magnaflow race series showed above or the dual magnaflow with an X pipe inside ? Thanks.

If it was on my truck I would run the longtubes and y-pipes like you have in your diagram. Run the straight sections to a x-pipe (Dr. Gas makes a few) then use a pair of oval center/center mufflers (14319 if you are running 3"). Have them welded together using some SS bar stock. You'll have more than enough capacity to run 600 rwhp and not overly loud. Also won't get a lot of that backflow popping that you hear on straight piped vehicles everytime the throttle is released.

JustJames80, don't know what you mean dude, if my headers are 8 to 1, as you can see on the picture, there is no palce to an X pipe as you suggested. To use an X pipe i would need a 4 to 2 headers. Confused.

That is what i have installed on the truck now, the other picture is just a project.
How i will use an X pipe here ???

Have an exhaust shop cut and separate the tubes where the y-pipe comes together like you have in your plan. Just imagine your plan, except where you have the straight pipes section noted, place an x-pipe and mufflers in there.

I personally would go.....

LT's
Highflow cats
Magnaflow 3" dual in/out with built in x pipe
Dump or exit after axles "quitness inside"

Thats just me though.

Hi guys, after a lot of research i decided to go with the Magnaflow 14386 as suggested by JUSTJAMES80 and ONELOWF. I would like to use an X pipe with 1 MAGNAPACK in each tube but Magnaflow stop their production.
I am almost sure the Magnaflow 14386 comes with an internal X pipe.
I will try to get a picture for the project. Thanks for all the help and comments.

rafael you have to have 1 3/4 or larger headers to make the kind of power you want. 1 5/8 is marginal for N/A 5.4. i am going to fab 1 7/8" x 37" headers for mine. i cannot reach 500hp wothout them.
I'm at about 550 using stock manifolds. I know I would have more with long tubes but such is life in the Golden State.
