Question budget build (need +100HP)

okay guys here's one for ya,
i posted a few days ago in the engine threads asking about bolting up the eaton SVT charger to a non-svt 5.4... looks like a little more than i was willing to spend. i have an 02 boss 5.4 that looks fast as sheet but really is well... a stock 5.4 in a flareside... it has ***** just not quite enough. i was looking to bolt up a SC, exhaust, filter, and tune it hoping to get around 100 more horsies (not nesicarily rwhp). been doing tons of reading and research on every brand of charger out there. im looking for something that will get me good boost in the low rpms to launch off the line better (tired of getting completely stomped by my girlies GTO!), and trying to keep the whole project as close to 3 g's as possible. looking for input from anyone out there with a sick setup. i know you guys will know. thanks in advance.

Dave.

also forgot to mention... i was looking at the ford racing setup that summit has. its only 2g's and boosts about 6psi. now i was assuming that would be an overall 90 or so gain in hp. that sound about right? now of course with tuning and a good exhaust w/ headers. im not trying to stretch this truck out too much. i want to keep it a long time. so this is why its a "budget build". just want to make it a little meaner. with this centri. kit, i was curious if you guys think that it would spool up fast enough to make a difference off the line.

I have had several Powerdynes and they don't help much off the line. They are a good bang for the buck though, especially if you can find a good one used. The last one I purchased was in like new condition and it only cost me $1400. Keep an eye on Ebay.

I just picked up a good used Kenne Bell off Ebay.

If you want off the line power get a roots or a twinscrew blower.
And for about 500 over your budget you could do the L swap.Bite the bullet and go for it.You will love the new power.

I like my Procharger, but if you want bottom-end, better get a roots as stated above. Unless you go with a centrify and a stall in your tranny.\\

Good Luck
