procharger

12# on a stock 5.4? no internal changes, just 90mm maf , and 42#injectors. is this a good idea with the procharger kit?...plus procharger sent me a pully that was supposibly the 8-93 one but it looks the same as the 12# pully so **** they have it listed as a 3.50"-6 rib drive pully does anyone know how much boost i should exspect from it?

12# boost is the most that the guys on this site are going with stock internals and they're not having any problems. The other thing it looks like you also need to have is a larger fuel pump, a 255 lph. is popular. I'm switching to 12# right now or as soon as I get the smaller pulley and an extra idler for better belt wrap. If I'm not mintaken, they're seeing around 350+ rwhp and 400 ft. lbs. rwtq. with a good custom tune.

Mixed reviews on the Walbro, some love them and have had no trouble, others have had issues. I went with the Bosch, alittle more expensive but has a great reputation as trouble free. At 5000rpm and 12psi of boost the last thing you want is your fuel pump to crap out.

Unfortunately you do. The ATI in-line pump is junk. I have it on mine with the stock in-tank pump and I'm getting a 21 psi drop in fuel pressure at 4800 rpms. I checked the stock pump by disconnecting the ATI pump and it still ran so I know it's good. The SVT lightnings use them and most of the aftermarket S/C guys are as well.

My ATI in-line has no problem keeing up. 50 psi fuel pressure on 42# injectors and I run to 5600 rpms...14psi. You may have a bad pump but most of the time it is usually the install.

I wish it were that simple, I've double checked the install and it's ok, very likely that the pump just doesn't work. I'm not the only one, I've heard more complaints about the in-line pump than good comments. You should feel lucky that yours works so good. It's simply better to get the proper in-tank pump and eliminate any future problems.

It can go either way. I've read about people doing in-tank pumps and having problems with those failing. I've had Bosch and Walbro pumps fail in a Mustang. Aeromotive A-1000 pumps fail easy. The ATI pump is not a bad pump though...for all we know the pump itself is probably made by Walbro or Bosch to begin with. The best setups I've seen use in-tank and inline pumps together.
