Roush Intercooled Supercharger to be released in two weeks
I just got off the phone with Roush, they said the intercooled version of the Roush supercharger will be released in about two weeks. I asked if the intercooler can be added to an existing Roush set up and the girl didn't think it could be.
I thought I had read here that Troyer Perf had the Roush intercooled supercharger available already. I also saw an auction on ebay for a Roush F150 that offered the intercooled supercharger if requested.
I asked the local Roush dealership yesterday if it was out and they said no. They also said that the intercooled version will not be made for the 4X4.
Any other information for this? I tried e-mailing Troyer Perf, but got no response.

It's just a different intake manifold with the intercooler built into it, there's no reason why it wouldn't work on existing installs (except be unreasonably priced as compared to buying it intercooled to begin with) or on a 4x4; I think they're all blowing smoke up your keister. Troyer would know best out of all the people you talked to, unless you get a very knowledgable person on the other end at Roush.
I've had a roush siting in my garage waiting to hear the scoop on the intercooler, and I still have not heard anything definitive. I called Roush yesterday and they said they were coming out with one, but did not know when.

OMFG are u serious???? This is the first I have heard of this! I will buy the intake manifold and intercooler in a second! I wonder how the PCM programming will differ, anyone have any ideas on this? It may just use the existing charge air temp sensor that it has already to detect lower intake air temps.....

Matt, I'd tend to believe those release dates are accurate, or fairly close. Roush does not seem to update their websight very frequently. One of the sealing factors for me to go other than Roush was the last phone conversation I had in regards to the intercooler working with the current supercharger. The girl said she didn't know, and didn't take the time to either ask, or transfer me to somebody that did know. I want to work with a company that is willing to find out the correct answer, and to have a knowledgeable enough staff to either answer the question, or get somebody who can. All she said was, "I don't think it will, but I'm really not sure"
I hope the intercooler does work for you, and I'm sure you'll let us know when it happens.
I was seconds away from ordering up the Roush, but I'm happy that I'm going with Whipple, especially with how Dustin has been handling our questions.

Wow, this is exactly what I wanted to hear.....I will DEFINITELLY get the upgrade once it becomes available. That is the only thing I regret about the Roush is that it isn't intercooled and you can really tell when things get hot under the hood. And how do I drop that 1 second off rafa26? Bigger injectors and another tune? Nitrous? PULLEY?
AHHHH Look what I found!!!!! Searching around I found info on this particular kit. Someone out there knows about it. Dewey Ford has this in their description of an 06' Roush F150 they have for sale. "If you think too much horsepower would be just about enough, have Dewey Ford install an available 7.5 PSI Roushcharger kit (with intercooler) on this truck and it rockets from the stock ratings of 300 HP and 365 FT.LB. of torque to 445 HP and 508 FT.LB. of torque. Or, have us install a less expensive 6 PSI non-intercooled Roushcharger kit to boost HP and torque to 412 and 475, respectively. Either of these installations will make your truck really "come alive" and both include a 36 month/36,000 mile drivetrain warranty that covers the engine, transmission, transfer case and rear axle." Here is the link to their site
So this tells me that the intercooler kit will boost it from 6psi to 7.5psi and add another 33hp and 33 ft lbs

Matt, that auction on ebay is the first place I saw the intercooler being offered as well. After seeing that, I went to Friendly Ford in Las Vegas (Roush Dealer) and asked them if it is available yet. They told me that it isn't, and won't be for at least a month. He said he has been in direct contact daily with Roush regarding this.
Here is the interesting part... He said that the Roush Intercooled Supercharger will NOT be available for 4 wheel drive F-150's! I asked him what was up with that and he did not know. He has a customer that is waiting for the intercooled supercharger and will be installing it once available on his 4X4, but they are having to tell Roush that it is a 2wd F-150.
I wonder if this is a warranty related issue, or if the dude at the dealership was blowing smoke.
