Boost Blowing out engines?

Hey I've read throughout the forums that so much pressure does certain things but I wanted to try to bring all the facts together.

So what it boils down to is how much boost can things handle (in your engine)? When do what parts start blowing up and engines get holes in them? Because I've been envying all the guys with 13, 14 pound boosts but people warn me not to get a pully above 6 or 7 PSI. Im sorry if this subject is a repeat but I'm dying to know how I can outfit my engine for a 10-13 lb boost : )

Thanks all!

there are many variables to this equation:
1. charge temps, intercooling
2. plug threads
3. tuning
4. forged or cast
5. juice
6. how hard you drive
7. etc,etc....

you could run that much boost with an intercooler and a VERY conservative tune. but then you don't really reach the potential you'd probably expect.

Your profile says that you're a 16 year old mechanic. Who installed and tuned your Harley supercharger on your "regular F-150"? What boost, pulley, pistons, and tune are you running?

I'm really sorry if it's not a liable story for anyone, but yeah - I'm 16 and a mechanic (as a result of being a severe car enthusiast I work everyday after school doing tune ups and repairs). But no, I didn't "tune" everything on my own, I installed everything with my coworkers who support me more than my family.
It runs ~5~ lb of boost on my old autometer guage thats getting replaced in a few weeks so Im not sure if its right. All stock pullys.
Thanks for your help

Compression ratio is also a big deal considering you are running 9.0:1 and a lightning runs 8.4:1. the aftermarke forged pistons run 8.5:1.

a few things to consider.

a stock harley runs around 6 psi, a lightning runs around 8. the only differnce between the regular f-150 and the supercharged is the pistons. there are plenty of lightnings running around on 12 psi and there are a few guys here running 10 plus on a stock regular f-150 so i would think 8 is very safe and 10 with a conservative tune is fine.

i take it that you installed a stronger fuel pump and the larger injectors and everything else that a harley has
