Question 305/45-22 on 3/5 or 2/3 lowered 12' 4x4?

I'm wanting to lower my truck 3/5 or maybe 2/3 and get some 22" KMC Slides that have 38mm of offset and 6.73" of backspacing. Sooo... can i run the 305/45s or will i need 305/40s? i already posted in the Wheels and Tires Forum and got 1 no and 1 yes then i was lead here by c_ulater

How it looks now.

I think the black will look good with the ingot silver

With 3/5 drop you'll probably rub with 305/45/22 (32.81" dia.), a 305/40/22 (31.61" dia.) will gain you 1.2" and should clear no problem, but I don't have any experience with backspacing dimensions, so depending how much they stick in or out will affect rubbing while turing.

For a comparison, I'm running 305/40/23 (32.61") with 44mm offset (no idea on backspacing of Saleen wheels) with a 3/5 drop on an FX2 and I rub slightly. I "think" the FX2 has a slightly taller stance than a regular 2WD, so the drop should be very close to your 4WD.

Thank you. I may just run a 2/3 drop because I'm not sure if I want to do a flip kit and loose so much suspension travel and bottom out. I just can't make up my mind.

What is the measurement between your tire and the fender lip? Also were does it rub? Fender lip?

I'm out of the country for another week, so if you don't get it by then, I'll get you my measurement.

My rubbing is on the inner fender mostly. I haven't noticed the rub on the fender lip in the front, but have seen it in the rear (cutting the tire slightly). The rearend moves A LOT when cornering which I think contributed to it, plus a load I had in the bed before. I'm taking care of the rearend movement very shortly!!

If you go this low, there are some drawbacks. I like the look, so I deal with them.

No problem!

2/3 is definitely a safe bet; and yeah, flip kits are not great!
