DJM rear kit installation instructions are a joke
The hanger has a bracket bolted to it which in turn is bolted through the frame to keep the hanger from moving. If you look close you can see that there's a smaller bolt to the right of the hanger bolt. Thats what bolts through the frame and keeps the hanger from moving. I hear you on the shackle idea but I really don't want to go any lower at this point. I'll probably just rock this for a while and maybe go with the Belltech rear once they get their act together.
Heard back from DJM
So this angle of the leaf spring is normal for their 4" flip kit on a 2011. I sent them a bunch of pictures to analyse to double check my installation.
From DJM:
"Yes that is normal. At 4" on the 11 ford we have to drop the front of the spring to get the right ride height the alternative is we have to start cutting up the truck to get that drop. Because you can adjust the pinion angle we can alter the spring and still have the drive shaft correct. Most of our customers want a bolt on kit and want to be able to restore the the truck if needed. It's really a hard sell when the instructions say cut this off then install this."
