Exclamation Bagged question help

Hey F150online,We need some help,my brother just finished bagging the rear of his 2001 f150 supercrew,but what he didn't pay attention too was the driveshaft,it broke after a few switch hits,he said the cab broke it,so what we want to know is...is it hard to replace the driveshaft on that truck,and should we use the same type of drive shaft or a 2 piece driveshaft?and is there something else we can do to prevent this from happening again?

Any info is greatly appreciated,My bro put in 5 days of hard work on this and he's pretty disappointed,this is the last thing he expected

So what exactly caused it to break, what did he do to fix it, and what did he do to prevent it from happening in the future? Just curious.

The cab broke it when he slammed his rear on the ground,He notched some of the cross member for it to clear most of the drive shaft,and as far replacing the shaft it was just 4 bolts holding it,so he unbolted the old one,slid right out,slid the new one in,and bolted it back up and it was done.I think he said he actually needs to notch into his cab to completely clear the shaft but he didn't have the time or materials to go that route,and he plans on getting a 2 piece drive shaft later down the line.

I just had to slightly notch the back support of the cab itself, and im still static 5/7 :o

Ive had the axle and gas tank crossmembers done for over two years, this is a relatively new issue for me with the shaft hitting the cab

Yeah we plan to cut into his cab,and box it in,but that's a lot work and we already used most of our vacation days getting the rear done,but all in good time,ill post some pics when he comes over again.
