DJM rear kit installation instructions are a joke

Got my DJM 4" rear drop kit. Going to couple that with the Bell tech adjustable front lowering kit on my '11 Lariat Limited. Was planning to do this myself but the DJM instructions are pretty bad. Before I give up and take it somewhere in Houston to be installed, I was hoping that someone here might have chronicled their install on a '09+ F-150. That might be all I need to give me the confidence to install this myself.

I'm sure you can look at the install guides on DJM's website for the 04-08 F150's and get the idea.

Better idea, call DJM.

Came across their tech article for an '07 HD that was a tremendous help. Should have it knocked out by next weekend.

Dropped

The install wasn't bad at all once I had some decent pictures to show what went where. Knocked it out by myself in the driveway, took about 6 hours total. I went with a 3 - 4 drop. Belltech drop struts up front adjusted for 3" drop and a DJM 4" flip kit in the rear with Belltech street performance shocks. Final measurements from top inside of wheel well to center of wheel were 18" front and 19" rear. I will likely get a set of helper bags for the rare occasion when I tow my boat. What's the verdict?

I was wondering about that. I must have spent a couple of hours on here just looking at dropped trucks to determine if its normal or not. Doesnt appear to be. I need to get under there today and see if it's the rear (hanger/shackle?) causing that and if I can pivot it forward and downwards to get the springs to lay more horizontal. Appreciate the feedback fellas.

Perfect stance. I believe the springs are like that because of the lifting shackles. I agree that it doesn't look good, and probably isn't good suspension geometry.

I'd like to do a 2/4 drop on my truck, but still maintain ride quality and towing ability.

Sweet looking truck and funny plate.

Don't think the leaf should look like that though. Almost looks like you have the shackle in the front instead of the rear. Might want to dig into that.

If you removed that lift shackle and put your factory back in you would be sitting level at 18" front and rear. You don't really need any rake if you plan to do helper bags for towing.

Either way nice looking truck you have there.

As Milt said, "looks like you have the shackle in the front instead of the rear."

Nice truck!

I don't know fellas... The kit only comes with front hangers and maintains the stock rear shackles. See pics, there's no way you could mount in the wrong spot. I loosened everything up, adjusted the pinon angle as best as I could and snugged it all back together. I think it may have changed tha angle of the leaf spring a little but not much. I think this is just how the DJM kit is supposed to be. Would love to hear from any others who have the DJM 4" flip kit on a '09+ that turned out differently. I emailed DJM tech support to see if it looks right or not. Will follow up with their reply in case anyone else is interested.

DJM Front Hanger

Stock Rear Shackle

Appreciate the praise on the truck. I really missed my '99 Lightning so I'm planning to build myself a modern day version with a Whipple once I get the motor broken in (only 600 miles so far)

is the "front hanger" keyed or have tabs on it? Whats to keep it from swinging around like the shackle does, that would make for a dangerous situation.

I vote get a 1" lift shackle, take the front hanger crap off, and drop the front another inch to match the new rear height
