First choice would be Nitto NT420S and second would be Hankook Ventus ST RH06 for both sets. I can live with 2110RPM's at 70. It won't down shift on the hills and pull up hill better too. The 20's are 9.5" wide rim and the 18's are 10" wide. Trying to get the different size rims tire to be close so it won't change the programming and performance between the two.
Get the Hankook's.. I have that exact tire for my Roush wheels I run in the months besides winter and I love them. Beautiful tread pattern and they feel great.

So here is a question, and it may be rediculous. If I were to add a 2" drop shackle in conjunction with my flip kit would it lower or raise my truck 2".

I ask because I am wanting to go 2" lower in the rear so I have to run air in the bags to sit level. If a 2" drop shackle would indeed lower me two more inches would I need to do anything with the pinion angle? I will be airing up to drive and will be sitting level, about a 1/2" to 1" lower than my current ride height in the rear.

Thanks in advance. I just got to thinking about how the flip kit works and it got me thinking about the effect of a drop shackle with the flip.

Yes the shackle would drop you 2" more. But now you might start thinking about a notch, You will need it.

Yes it would lower your truck 2" that is what I am running

Yes your pinion angle will need to be corrected if you plan to have a lower ride height. You may need to alter your carrier bearing mount so that your driveshaft is not perfectly straight. At 8" drop my driveshaft goes up from the carrier bearing, at 7" it may be pretty close to straight, I would put a spacer between the bearing and the frame to lower the bearing.

If you had a djm flip kit you could adjust the pinion angle without shims....just saying

Yeah I am just going to do a C-notch. That should give me enough clearance while aired out and help with bottoming out while driving at ride height.

Ok thanks for the info. Yeah Yeah the belltech is whack for not having adjustment. lol. I had a DJM 4/7 on a 2009 Chevy and I was not impressed with it.

Thanks for chiming in guys. You two and Patman were the ones I was hoping to get responses from.

I just had a thought, if I remember correctly you have a 3/5 kit which means you have a lifting shackle, so a 2" drop shackle would lower you 3" from where you are now (or 8" drop total). Now pretty much all 2" drop shackles have a second hole for only 1" drop which would lower you 2" from where you are now (or for a total of 7" drop)

And yes I would recommend a notch for over 5" of rear drop, also not sure about the 09+ but the rear abs wire needs to be re routed so it is not above the diff

I would go after the holidays. Home cooked food over chow hall food any day of the week. That and your family would have an easier time with it too. Go there expecting the worst and it won't be so bad. Mind over matter. Pain is weakness leaving the body!! I have plenty of advice on boot camp. I was a D.I. and went through boot too when I first got in. Shoot me a PM. I would write you in boot and keep you up to date....lol

From what I have read most people are using a 2 degree shim and make sure you do a C-notch. Azmidget and Patman Are goto guys on these matters. They are sensei's on drops. What they say is golden!!
