Saleen wheel guys....have questions

Hey guys, before I order the wheels I have a couple questions.

On my '07 FX4 Screw I'm wanting to do a decent drop and throw on the Saleens w/ some 305/40/23's.

First what tires are you guys running. Secondly could I get buy w/ this size tires on all +30 offset? How bout +44 offset? (Rubbing after dropping is a main concern)

I'm familiar w/ making wheels sit flush and rolling fender lips as my 350Z was slammed and flush, however not sure if I could still squeeze a +30 in the front after a 2/4 drop or a 3/5 drop. Pics w/ specs of offsets and tires sizes would be appreciated.

Thanks guys (Oh and could you post what drops/brand you have).

I'm running my Saleen's with 305/40/23 Continental CrossContact UHP's. I have an '07 FX2 dropped on what is pretty much a 2/5 drop. I used the Eibach 2/3 kit with 2" lowering shackles in the back. I have no issues with rubbing at all. These wheels are designed with the perfect offset for these trucks. Go ahead and go for it, you won't have any issues at all with that drop! You can see pictures of my truck on another thread in this forum called "Back to the summer stance!"

Stompy thanks so much...your truck has the exact stance i'm going for. Next question...did you go w/ the +44 front +30 rear or same offsets all around? And if so +30 all around or +44? Thanks so much. Also think I'm gonna PTM the factory fender flares....here's how my truck looks now. Also gonna go w/ the Saleen grill. Not sure if I should powdercoat wheels black or leave them chrome though.

I have the +44's on front and +30's on back. The offset's make the wheels sit perfectly flush with the fenders which is what I wanted. The PTM flares would look good dude, especially since it looks like your truck is a lux with the PTM handles already...go for it! Haven't seen many FX4's with the Saleen's....I look forward to see how it turns out

44mm - front
30mm - rear
No rubbing issues. Stompy's correct. These are the wheels that Saleen runs on the s331. That guarantees no problems. I'm running a 2/4 Eibach drop on 305/40/23's which most guys on Saleens here do. I never had any issues, except all the looks I get. - Og

Thanks guys.....I was thinking about going same offset and getting a wheel spacer for the rears (as in if I got the +44's all around) but I've dealt w/ different offsets and also different width wheels and tires so I guess I can deal with it here too. Might as well do it the way it was meant to be done.

Not to drag this thread offtopic but OG on your Harley (which looks amazing btw) did the Eibach kit work just fine being you're AWD? I've noticed many companies don't make a 2/4 kit for 4WD F150's so I was just wondering if AWD suspension was basically the same as the 4WD setup. So far I keep seeing DJM thrown out there for 4WD guys but last I checked I think they only have a 3/5 kit and that's too low for 23's and Chicago roads (been there done that w/ the Z I mentioned earlier and it was hell on my underbody and VOLK TE37's).

I'd really like to do Eibach or McNaughty's 2/4....just wanna make sure I can use either of those w/ the 4WD. Thanks again guys for your help. Man lowering these things is so much cheaper than lifting lol. Think I'm gonna retrofit some projectors too. Opened up headlights before, willing to try the retrofitting....got a few Acura projectors laying around haha.

And Stompy yep everything is PTM due to my truck having the luxury option as you said....(didn't know that when I bought it) but one of the helpful members here filled me in that that is what I had.

Also gonna remove the FX4 stickers on the bed....been wanting to do that once it finally warms up. Also wanna go LED smoked tails and LED smoked 3rd brake light. Tint the fronts.

After that it's all motor work....having a friend that builds 1 to 2,000 hp turbo Mustangs may come in handy down the road and keep the wallet a lil heavier than if I didn't have any hookups lol.

Thanks again guys for all the help. Look fwd to the before and after pics once she's properly dropped and the wheels are on.

ETA: just saw DJM has a 2/4 kit for 4wd but it's a flip kit (I heard that's not the best way to go about lowering the rear) Any better options? Sorry for all the newb questions and I have read quite a bit and honestly I think I'm just confusing myself.

On StylinTrucks they have the Belltech 2" coils (front) and 2" drop shackles and removing the 2" factory block would result in a better 2-4 drop correct? Also they've got a sale going to include the 4 shocks I would have to get if dropping.

http://www.stylintrucks.com/part.aspx?partfamilyid=23553&attribute_value_strin g|Drop+Amount=2%22+Front+%26+2%22-4%22+Rear&canned_results_trigger=&partid=603915

If you guys think this kit is GTG just holler ASAP b/c the sale w/ the shocks free ends 4/1/10 Thanks guys!

Thanks for the compliment. My truck is a 2WD, not an AWD. I knew I wanted to modify the suspension on down the line, so I opted for the 2WD. - Og
